Being a huge (I mean HUGE) fan of the original serie, back in the 80s, I was meant to be disappointed!

21 Jump Street it was not! it was more of a Police Academy meets... something else, maybe American Pie
Definitely not a huge fan of the juvenile humour, but I can see people liking it. And I know I am a minority here.

Now the serious bit:
You have of course all noticed Depp's cameo, but you have probably missed that his partner was also his partner in the original serie (Pete DeLuise); another cameo was the lady cop Hoffs (Holly Robinson) who handed them their fancy car... last tribute, even less obvious: Jenko was the name of the 21 Jump Street Captain in the first season!
Told you I was a fan
I was at Shepherds Bush too. I got there at 6pm to find a long queue. I eventually spotted KP and asked him if he knew the problem, then I went up and asked the ticket collector (something to do with a lightbulb apparently

So I really enjoyed this totally OTT silly film. I knew from the minute I heard Eminem and saw Jonah, that I would. Great chemistry between Hill and Tatum, (David, Tatum is a boy) in this sort of role reversal film. Superbly silly chases, pedal bikes, and limos being two that really made me laugh. Ice cube and Dave Franco were great too. NOt a lot going on for the women in the film, but it was a Bromance ;)

Great cameo and apparently there were another two that I didn't spot. 8/10

we're speaking late 80s Val; was Sky already there?
It was shown on TF1 in France, on Wednesday afternoons and I remember fighting over the remote control with my older brother who could not give a s*it about my massive crush for Depp, DeLuise and Grieco (awwww!)

Saw this in Islington, where I (very briefly) met Beate. This movie malarkey isn't made for socialising! Didn't realise others were there...!

I had low expectations, but rather liked it. Great surprise cameo (I may have announced this rather loudly!). Silly easy fun, some cringeworthyness, quite lazy humour in parts, but perfect after a busy day.

We had Sky in Switzerland in the 80's. Far fewer channels....! I remember Pat Sharp doing the chart shows... :offtopic:

Not too many sex jokes, not too much vomit, two actors I don't like that much who were actually good, a good story, good lines, good alternation between action and f**ked up situations.

And good cycle starting with the Superintendent ironically saying something like
'we have no idea what to do, we take the same old shit and put it back on the desk' implying 'we have no idea what to write about so we took an old serie and adapted it for the cinema' - at least it meant that to me!
and ending with
Johnny Depp and I-know-your-face-but-can't-remember-your-name
