We are having a Bank Holiday thunderstorm up here in Durham! So glad we decided not to bother with a barbeque!

OMG this sounds fantasic(!)... butterflies? Really? So was it as tacky as you expected?

I initially wanted to get married this Bank Holiday weekend but WAY too expensive so got married at the beginning of August (1 month tomorrow :D woohoo!). Twice the price to get married on BH weekend. Natch.

I think I know the place you mean as I used to drive past it all the time, and it still looks like a bingo hall inside judging by the website... Can't believe it's that expensive!!!

Wedding was pretty much as expected but we did enjoy ourselves and it was great to see some family that we hadn't seen for several months.

The speeches were quite funny although the groom did serenade the bride with a song I had never heard of before and his voice was absolutely awful (no way he would get through the auditions of X-Factor).

If you imagine very possible thing that could be over the top then it was at this wedding including a eight tier cake, bubble machine when the bride and groom had their first dance etc.

Didn't realise they had a website for it!!! Yeh I couldn't believe how expensive they are either considering how rubbish it looks. I had to go there for a work do once and absolutely hated it! And to imagine getting married there...... :nono:

8 tier cake!!! 8O Hope everyone got a slice!!!

When my cousin got married, he pa*d for every little child to have ice cream. The children were scoffing it down their throats and coming back for seconds, third, fourth and fifth!!! As were the adults... who were sending their children to get them the ice cream!!!! There was such a mess on the floor as a result of that....

At my best friends wedding, she pa*d for a chocolate fountain! It never turned up... :sealed:

No doubt that serenade will make it onto You Tube sometime soon!

I'm glad you had a good time :)

Although surely a bubble machine while dancing is a trip hazard...?
