Do we think it was packed because of all the children taken along on a Sunday morning or will it be the norm for every preview?

There's my full thoughts. What a brilliant, ambitious and beautiful film.

Hatfield where I went today always seems to have very busy previews, very often oversubscribed, but there wasn't that many children there today, mostly adults.
Preferred Cinema's now Paignton or Exeter!

It was not other subscribed in port solent today and Portsmouth generally does not normally get other subscribed.
A horse walks into a bar and the bartender asks, "Why the long face?"

A pony walks into the bar and whispers, "I'll have a beer, please." The barkeeper asks, "Why are you whispering?".
"I'm a little hoarse."

I enjoyed how Pi investigated various religions and found faith rather than religion.
Religion divides man whilst true faith and common sense can bring mankind together.

saw this this morning and the cinema was so packed that people even sat on the stairs, though i dont think this is supposed to be alllowed for health and safety precautions
the film was brilliant, the story and pi's life i thought they told it quite well, though of course the book was much better. visuals were stunning and captivating, throughly enjoyed it

Like your sentiment Sparrow. This film was bulging full of amazing visuals greatly enhanced by 3D, imaginative story and spiritual jewels. There was a few harrowing scenes with the animals but it was all instinctual and not meant to be upsetting. My daughter unashamedly bawled her eyes out so only watch if you're not feeling too sensitive.

I was enchanted by this tale. One of the best of the year

I do know somebody who some scenes harrowing and felt it spoiled the film.
It wasn't what I expected either to be honest.

I was invited to the BAFTA members' private screening this morning at Odeon West End.

A beautiful film. A feast for the eyes, an incredible story, and good 3D too. The animals were all so real, and I really loved the music. The young Pi was really engaging, funny and charming. However, the middle part dragged a bit for me, and the writer seems a bit weak, or maybe he did not have a good script
"oh, I didn't know you had a wife and children".
8/10

Saw this at Wester Hailes today and enjoyed it.

The visuals were brilliant, but the film seemed to drag a bit in the middle. Maybe that was necessary to convey the length of time that they were aimlessly drifting?
