"There is only one freedom of any importance, freedom of the mind." - Judi Dench as Iris Murdoch in Iris.

If you are a prisoner of your thoughts and dysfunctional files then you have no freedom. The ability to free your mind of all its unhealthy junk is the only way out.

Hi all

The next few of mine are all going to be from baz luhrmanns everybodys free to wear sunscreen, its such an amazing piece of advice throughout the whole song so ill pick and choose a few of my favourites parts of it

Enjoy the power and beauty of your youth; oh nevermind; you will not
understand the power and beauty of your youth until they have faded.
But trust me, in 20 years you’ll look back at photos of yourself and
recall in a way you can’t grasp now how much possibility lay before
you and how fabulous you really looked….

Have a great week !

"There's a difference between knowing the path and walking the path." - Laurence Fishburne in The Matrix as Morpheus.

Morpheus reminds us that we can never really know it, we can only BE it. What keeps many of us from going after our dreams is inertia. We must take that first step and start walking the path of the larger journey. :D

"I can't tell you any sure way to happiness. I only know that you've got to go out and find it for yourselves." - Gene Lockhart as Dr. Seldon in Carousel.

If you go to the self-help section of any bookstore you will find ten million books about obtaining happiness. However, no one can tell you what will make you happy or how to become happier. You have to discover your own joy and let it come through you.

I just love this thread and it does what it says on the tin. It is so true life is what you make it and just a smile can make someone's day. Thanks to you inspirational posters o/

Agreed, though I like it best when these are complemented by the sinspirational type, i.e. people posting about cake!
