Hope you made it to The Big Wedding tonight . . . it was a rather pleasant wee film . . .non-taxing on the brain. I'm sure your mum and friends will enjoy it . . . give it a try . . .you might like it, SB!!!! :p
Saw this in a half empty Braehead tonight tho I think they expected a full house as they were telling us on the way in to not leave any empty seats. I suspect the small audience is due to multiple screenings.
I have to admit that I was ready for this kind of light-hearted film. Story was predictable and odd to see so many well-known actors/actresses in it.
I would not have been unhappy if I'd pa*d to see The Big Wedding as it "did what it said on the tin".

Na. The film was meh. This for the uninitiated is marginally better than pants, but only just.

Was actually fairly disappointed by this one. It had a good cast but it just didn't work for me. The dialogue seemed clunky in places- the timing of jokes in particular seemed to be completely off - and some of the characters seemed so morally bankrupt or annoying (and not in a funny way) that I could not understand how anyone could put up with them. The OH didn't dislike it as much as me, but I found myself hoping it would all just end so I could walk home in the rain. It was that bad IMHO.

What a terrible film... from the poster, via the unlatino Ben Barnes and De Niro does Ricky Tomlinson to the multiple cliche count. One of those films that leave you wondering what wonderful film could have been made by someone else with half the money.
1/10 for Katherine Heigl's skin... Sorry McG!
Followed thus up with a rush into town to see the wonderful Kim Richey, who was sublime.

Ni I agree with McG. Not a bad film and nice to catch up with Biggins. Did not see you Stuartboy which was a shame as Mum had brought you chocolate and a wee drink!!!

We enjoyed the film, easy watching and as one of my friends used to say...better than a slap in the face with a wet fish!!

Robert De Niro was fine it was Diane Keaton that grated she always looks the same!!!

Pleasant film.. Nothing great in it, but still delivers smile on your face at every 5 mins.

I would give it 6/10..

I love it! Ok I agree, this is a film to watch on a DVD/blu ray rather than on the big screen.. but who is not going to enjoy a film with such a good cast?
Moreover, I give all the credits to the producers that gave the role of the Colombians to a real Colombian actresses and not be played by someone else with a Mexican accent... Finally Hollywood understood than South America is not just Mexico!

Saw this last night in Wimbledon. An OK movie. Robert de Niro and Susan Sarandon were, as per usual, outstanding in their respective roles. There were some genuine comedic moments but no belly-laughs. For me the movie never really took off and I felt I never really got to know the majority of characters and the sub-stories were completely inconsequential. The house and setting were both gorgeous though - and for me, the real stars of the film. I'd give it a 5/10.
