I came into work at 9.05 and there was only one other person and we were both locked out the office until someone found a key! A lot of people are on holiday, others are working from home, a few trickled in later. OH has still not been picked up for the Day Centre which is a combination of road delays and a new driver not finding our address! I am quite annoyed about that.

My bosses obviously did not expect this, as we share an office with about 10 other people from other companies. They're both going straight to voicemail, so surely on the tube.

I only have a key to the front door of the building, can't get in to the office properly. Sitting in Costa near the office trying not to be annoyed. If anyone needs me I'll be in Costa watching Grimm, as I'm a bit angry at everyone for not showing up to work and neglecting to tell me.
At least you managed to get there :P I don't see there's any point to be angry, it's outside of the commuters' control and many will not have service if stuck on tubes and/or running out of battery because of the delays. My train only started running again a few minutes ago (twice an hour) but the station has a queue waiting out of the door so rarely anyone is getting on anyway (+ trains are already full when they get to the station!).

I got in to the office, finally. The reason I was angry was my bosses are notorious for just deciding to work from home and telling me when I get to work, and I texted them to say I was running late, got an "ok" but didn't get the same text back, so was wondering if they had just decided not to come in. I guess Stoke Newington/Manor House was having some serious transport problems, most of the people in my office live there and were having serious issues apparently.

Was this the whole storm? Because I'm pretty sure there has been worse rain/wind in the last couple months....

I didn't qualify as I wasn't working over the weekend, but when I got to the office today, I found that lots of my colleagues had been staying in local hotels, organised by management on Friday/Saturday, to ensure we had enough staff. Even so, the night shift staff were waiting anxiously to see how many of us turned up this morning, so they could go home!

It's actually hitting the Netherlands at the moment and the wind is expected to hit cyclon speeds. People are advised to stay indoors at all times. o.O

Well, it did not seem as bad as the last storm where our extension roof blew away! We did not even hear any howling of the wind this time, but here is a couple of snaps of the end of my road this morning.

The tube was horrendous, they closed King's Cross for overcrowding, and all the trains arriving at Euston was so packed, could not get on, and they then decided to terminate one at Euston when the platform was already choc-a-bloc! Finally, one came and half the carriage emptied, as the last person stepped off, the station announced, the train is ready to leave now, and we all just surged on from the platform, I was totally lifted off my feet with the amount of people trying to get on before the train departed!

My Daughter has arrived in Birmingham safely. Her journey was a nightmare She left extra early. Arrived at North Greenwich staff wasn't allowing anyone down onto the platform. So She waited about half hour before She got on the tube too Green Park then tube too Euston. I texted Her as I found out Her train was cancelled London Midland service due too tree on tracks overhead cable down. She was told by station staff too either get a refund/ exchange for a ticket tomorrow morning or wait in the hopes they might run a train late afternoon if at all. Her train should've left Euston 9.49am. She waited at Euston then was told that the 11.03am Virgin train would accept other tickets. Well done too Virgin Trains. Train was late leaving Euston and arrived Birmingham 1.20pm over an hour late. Her Friend wasn't so lucky She was travelling from Waterloo too Edinburgh for a private uni visit / tour. She waited over 4 hours then went home and is going too attempt the journey tomorrow. Stay safe everyone. Our fence is still up. Now raining here in Greenwich.

The storm was not to bad in Portsmouth, there was not too much damage!
A horse walks into a bar and the bartender asks, "Why the long face?"

A pony walks into the bar and whispers, "I'll have a beer, please." The barkeeper asks, "Why are you whispering?".
"I'm a little hoarse."

Luckily I have taken this week off work to stay home with the kids beings it's half term so didn't have to venture out to work. However, was rudely awoken at not much after 6am to the wind lifting the roof, mine and next doors. Luckily it was just the tiles at the front that came off and the felt stayed put and by lunchtime OH had been up the ladder and fixed it.
Preferred Cinema's now Paignton or Exeter!
