Queuing in Greenwich was a bit of a pain last night - thought it started at 7pm so showed up at 6 and waited for 90 minutes. Whoops.
I thought the last Spider-Man film was a bit dull, but this is a HUGE improvement. It's still a little flabby and the Parker legacy story is dull as ditchwater, but the Electro action sequences are utterly stunning.
His real superpower isn't electricity - it's DUBSTEP. The fights with him are like musical numbers with score and sound effects all in sync. Beautiful.

I really liked this, an improvement on the last film and way better than Captain America: Winter Solider.
I did not look at my watch once which is unusual for me and even more incredible considering this was over 140 minutes long. Just goes to show how engaged I was.
Garfield is spot on and really nails the emotional story for Peter and has built on his performance from the previous film. Plus he has amazing chemistry with Emma Stone so their relationship never feels schmaltzy or cheesy. The action sequences were impressive and nice touches of comedy thrown in. Electro’s character may not have been flushed out too well but Harry Osborn was a good addition. The minor criticism is that the film too obviously introduces smaller characters as set up for future films.
8.5/10.

It wasn't the worst thing I've seen but I just see very little point to it. Everything seemed underdeveloped and I don't think the director had any conviction in anything he did, or more likely the studio watered it all down so much.

Yes, Foxx certainly didn't hold back -- very full of himself, I thought. I liked Mr Garfield though as he seemed a pretty nice guy.

Indeed he did and it was a great introduction to the film: "I hope you like the film but if you don't that's OK... just keep your thoughts to yourself."

Comparisons between this and Captain America: Winter Soldier are inevitable but the victor is a no-brainer - it's Captain America by a mile.
Sure, Spidey 2 is an undeniably enjoyable movie but it's still flawed. There's too much going on, too many characters which have nothing to do with this movie (a blatant excuse for setting up the sequel), occasionally cheesy dialogue and a downright cringeworthy romance angle. I sometimes wish '(500) Days of Summer' hadn't given Mark Webb to confidence to believe he could do romance well because he's handling of this theme in both installments has been excruciating to say the least.
The good news is that relatively minor issues aside, the balls-to-the-wall action is superbly handled and the CGI absolutely flawless. I love LondonCityNights' description above - the dubstep does indeed elevate the action to goose-bump inducing levels. But as magnificent as Electro's scenes are (particularly the Times Square showdown), it's the conclusion which seriously earns my respect. Glad to see Mark actually picked up a Spider-man comic book this time and gave the seemingly invincible characters a sense of mortality.
Overall, the 2012 reboot was a underwhelming mess of a film - this one is an improvement in almost every conceivable way.
7.5 / 10

That line got a big laugh in Manchester
Was it just me or did Jamie Foxxxx ask people to go out and see the movie when we were all sat waiting to see it in about 10 minutes time!

He seemed to be the only one who wasn't really listening to what Alex was saying, Emma Stone tried much harder, even repeated the names of the Cinemas that Alex quoted to her, even though she struggled to come up with something to say

Saw this in Glasgow on Thursday and enjoyed it. Although I did feel it was too long and could've ended at several points throughout. Good special effects and 3D.
