Where is everyone? In Germany the streets would now be heaving with people shooting off fireworks, hugging and wishing each other a happy new year!

We've got some fireworks going off somewhere in the neighborhood. Most people round here seem to go away for the holidays

Cor blimey not sure what's happening where you are but all I'm hearing where I am are fireworks non stop!!! Cars have completely taken every single spot even parking in bus lanes!!!!!

My street is dark and empty. Apart from a few smokers outside the rowing club there is no one around. Of course when they all go home in an hour or two they will make enough noise and wake me up again but in Germany they would all be out wishing total strangers a happy new year right now.
