Also saw this at the Silverlink last night.
Thought this was very well done, superb acting, lots of giggles with a real good touching storyline. Costumes, music, scenery etc was all brilliant. Best line "I've carried 3 pots on my head!" ... will try that next time im out on the town. 8/10
Great to see Andrews and Preston (and palming off some Roller Derby leaflets off on them.. ha ha) xx

Re: West is West
I had to go and pick up post at the sorting office today and had to sign for it, it turned out to be 2 VIP tickets to West is West on Thursday Feb 17 @ Manchester Printworks, looks like being a bit more that the usual preview as it says:-
6.00pm Red carpet arrivals
7.00pm Screening starts with welcome by cast
8.45pm Q&A with cast
Has anyone else got tickets for this, I think I applied from a posting I saw on here a few weeks ago and I was initially told all the tickets had been allocated but I was on the reserve list.
I already had tickets for this on Tuesday at Didsbury, but this sounds as if it may be a better night, only problem being I have a prior arrangement I will be trying to reschedule on Monday.
Have any of the other screenings had cast members and Q&A?
I have only attended 1 screening before with Q&A which was Superbad a few years ago, I think this type of screening usually happens in London.

Re: West is West
Cineworld very full in Cardiff. Fantastic cinematography. Really good acting by all, full of tension, laughs and pathos. OH said he enjoyed too - so it most have been good!!
Just a couple of girls giggling - in the wrong places (laughing about ascents, for G's sake we're Welsh!!!
) which nearly had me doing an 'EXCUSE ME.......' moment.
8/10
Going to look up the name of the group used in the opening shots now, driving me crazy trying to think who it is, even stayed to see if they were in the credits.

Re: West is West
I agree. I liked it as well. It had a different energy to East is East and overall was not as funny, but nevertheless well acted and thoroughly enjoyable and relevant from a historical perpective.
