The New York Times reports that Nick Ashford, one half of legendary songwriting duo Ashford & Simpson, died Monday at the age of 70 in a New York hospital after suffering from throat cancer. Ashford & Simpson were the force behind such staples as "Ain't No Mountain High Enough", "You're All I Need to Get By", and "I'm Every Woman".
