That toast looks a bit burnt Preston! ;) How was the plate blue when it had the toast on it but white after you had eaten it!! did you lick the plate that clean you took the colour off it too!!

I didn't have scrambled egg and smoked salmon this morning - my husband said what was I expecting for the price we pa*d!!!

We are just back from our overnight stay at the Hotel. It was was not very far from us and we have been before for a meal but never stayed the night. We had a lovely three course meal. A bottle of wine and small box of Thornton's chocolates in the room. Beakfast was buffet style so had a small bowl of fresh fruit salad and one sausage, a fried egg and one rasher of bacon. It was an Itison deal which cost £69 and I had referred a friend to Itison so had a £5 credit off this too. So at £32 each I don't think I should have expected a huge choice at breakfast. Bathroom was in need of updating and the shower was tempermental but room was big and clean.

For the evening meal I had a starter of goat's cheese with asparagus and parma ham and mixed leaves. Main was salmon fillet with new potatoes and mixed veg. Dessert - I shouldn't have had but I was naughty - and had the carmel toffee ice cream bombe which was incased in white chocolate. :red: The three course meal on its own should have cost us £21.95 each and all we pa*d for was coffee afterwards.

Thanks for all your kind anniversary wishes. It wasn't a special anniversary but we always go out for a meal to celebrate even after all these years together.

hey everyone, glad to see you are all carrying on the good work. I've been hiding away firstly because I was binging like mad, then secondly because I was turning over yet another new leaf and was eating better and going to combat again.

Until this morning, when I woke up with a massive amount of pain in my foot. I went to the Dr and Hospital for Xrays but they were inconclusive. So I'm grounded for a while :wall:
preferred locations Shepherds Bush, Westfield, Notting Hill, Central London, Wimbledon, Islington, Wandsworth thanks

Lol - you noticed! ;) I can't get anything past you lot :p ...They do say that carbon is good for you though! o/

Re the blue/white plate thing - that one is down to a certain Mr Kodak and the vagaries of his compact camera's exposure controls I think.

I'm very jealous of the remarkable deal you got at your hotel Biggins - I've been checking out your Itison website and am going to keep my eyes peeled for something similar. I could just fancy a couple of days away somewhere nice.

Valda - Welcome back! :D Sorry to hear about your foot pain problems - :shifty: If the pain is down the heel and under the sole of the foot, could it be Plantar Fasciitis? - maybe our Diane will be able to offer her professional view and some advice! :D

You will have to show me on Saturday and I'll b*y you a cake which is good for sore feet ;) I do hope that you're not in too much pain :cross: Take care.

Biggins calories don't count on anniversaries so you're ok :shifty: What a good deal you got with the hotel - I am trying not to look at deals as I get carried away booking things (I may just have a look just in case  )

Just wondering if cake is also good for a chronic ankle problem (I've been to the physio who rather ungraciously suggested that being overweight does not help!)? Oh blast -- maybe cake isn't the answer for me.

One of my fave songs that my kids used to sing in primary ... do you know this one, Clare?

Cauliflowers fluffy and cabbages green
Strawberries are sweeter than any I've seen
Beetroots purple and onions white
All grow steadily day and night

The apples are ripe and the plums are red
The broadbeans are sleeping in their blankety bed

Blackberries are juicy and rhubards sour
Marrows fattening hour by hour
Gooseberries hairy and lettuces fat
Radishes round and runner beans flat

The apples are ripe and the plums are red
The broadbeans are sleeping in their blankety bed

Orangey carrots and turnips cream
Reddening tomatoes that used to be green
Brown potatoes in little heaps
Down in the darkness where the celery sleeps

The apples are ripe and the plums are red
The broadbeans are sleeping in their blankety bed, Yea!
