Lol!
Are we having a comp to find the worst "neighbour" in a cinema or theatre?
As caitlinmorton says, I don't understand the theatre etiquette of folk any more . . . rustling sweets at the quietest parts, phones, talking, opening cans, etc.
I get so annoyed at bad behaviour of all sorts but maybe that's the teacher in me!

Completely forgot about this one. In a completely different play on the same trip, towards the beginning of the second act a guy took a call. It was ridiculous. Probably two rows behind me and across the aisle and I could hear him. Luckily he was on the aisle and got up and went away, but initially it was really rude and disrespectful.
This was an older man. People these days...

I've just checked and the full moon was on 25th April so not far off, Beate!
Maybe we should start a campaign for cinemas/theatres with no phones, food, or talking . . . the equivalent of the "quiet carriages" on trains . . .

Mind you, it still wouldn't apply to the "fools" just everyone else!

It's got to be full moon though or something judging from the amount of idiots around us. I was the very first person in and up the stairs and the usher tried to tell me that I had to exchange my member ticket printout for a real ticket downstairs! I had to explain to him that you just scan the barcode on it (it even says on the printout to "go straight to the screen"!) and then he scanned the ticket of the man behind me first who promptly overtook me and proceeded to take the seats we always choose! I am afraid I wasn't letting him have them, I was there first and the usher shouldn't have let him queue-jump! If he had chosen any other seat, I wouldn't have said anything but what's too much is too much. Then while I was talking to jojojoanne, someone again wanted to have my seat. Which had a handbag and a coat on it. Are people stupid? Like OH would block an extra seat with a woman's handbag for no one... And what is it with people talking all the way through the trailers? If you are not interested in them, you can still shut the f**k up so others can hear them! Unfortunately none of the other FMUKers I saw today was early enough to sit by us. In the middle of the film, all of a sudden a woman in the row in front of us turned round and said very loudly to the guy behind her to stop kicking her seat!
Which cinema was it?
And seriously, trailers should be regarded as part of the movie. I love trailers. We don't get them with free screenings often (except at picturehouse, wonder why?) but that doesn't mean they should be respected any less. Those ads for Orange and M&Ms and such during pa*d movies, go for it, talk all you want, but during trailers just sit back and enjoy. I just don't get it....

The fact that I paused to consider that seriously is awful!
No phones, no tablets, no crunchy/smelly food, no ice in drinks, no talking, no babies... All latecomers and weak bladdered folk to sit at the back in a designated row to keep disruption to a minimum. Ahh... We could sell a lot of tickets to this venue, McG!

Vue West End, Cineworld Haymarket, Odeon West End, Odeon Leicester Square, Empire Leicester Square, Cineworld O2, Cineworld Shaftesbury Avenue and Odeon Panton Street, followed by anywhere in central(ish) London.

I doubt that I'll post very much on this thread (I pretty much accept that if I want to watch a movie in a 'controlled' environment then I should just stay at home) but do think the gentleman that decided to p*rchase a potted orchid prior to this morning's Mud screening @ the Hackney Picturehouse deserves a mention (every time someone wanted to get past him they had to wait a few minutes whilst he carefully picked it up and moved it out of harm's way

I was also at Hackney P'house and I breathed a sigh of relief when Orchid Man did not choose a seat near me. Why not b*y your orchid after the film??? There was a terrible crinkly wrapper nuisance at the end of our row-- the noise was incredible but unfortunately I wasn't close enough to tell them to be quiet or take the bag away from them. I was amazed that no one said anything.
I liked the film. I thought it was well acted and kept my attention throughout. I just told my son that it could have been a little bit shorter as it dragged slightly and he told me I always say that -- so that's me told off!
