Re: Weight Watchers
I'll be having my homemade lentil soup tonight - no bread though! I use a weightwatchers recipe, when it was 'free' and you could fill up on it easily. Now I am counting calories, it's a bit harder not to over-do it. (eat a lot, that is)
Re: Weight Watchers
Is weight watchers better than slimming world? Really need to lose weight and not sure which one to go to?

Re: Weight Watchers
In my opinion one is no better than the other as it your commitment to losing weight that counts. My sister runs a slimming world class and has a lot of successful clients as does weight watchers. I am not with any of these and have just cut down on carbs and with a lot of support from the others on this forum and have lost a total of 11lbs. Should be more than that by now but the 3lbs that would make a stone seem to go and come back again!!!!KTfab wrote:Is weight watchers better than slimming world? If you read back you will see that Diane and Preston have done extremely well and they are doing it themselves too.

Re: Weight Watchers
I would personally say slimming world cause its more what MrG recommends, all non processed foods, cooking from scratch, that sort of thing.
However that can be costly and if your're low on time you might prefer WW as they have a variety of meals available.
I preferred it when it was the old point system, when they changed to the propoints mallarky, I ended up gaining weight, so left it.

Re: Weight Watchers
You too have done extremely well. I have never tried a slimming group so have no idea how either of them work but I too couldn't have done it without the constant support plus the banter/guidance from everyone on here. I would take the advice that Biggins and rawr_xoxo give and its what works for you.biggins wrote:In my opinion one is no better than the other as it your commitment to losing weight that counts. Good luck with the weigh in Preston1990 who now appears to be an imaginary friend
Menu of the day:
Smoothie with strawberries and a banana (300 calories)
Banana sandwich on granary bread (350 calories) plus weight watchers fromage frais (50 calories)
Homemade leek and potato soup (300 calories) A peach (50 calories)
i will literally be in the house for 30 minutes between work and going to the lecture hence quick dinner and I know hardly any vegetables today but I will make up for it tomorrow.
It will be a rest day tomorrow as I won't be home until 9.30pm
Have a fun day everyone

Last time I felt pressures into it but this time I want to do it for me and my kids sono can be more active and not so tired all the time. Re: Weight Watchers
Hi all - it's been a while - sorry! ........and thanks to everyone who has expressed concerns about me both on here and in private messages. You are all lovely!
The truth is I'm a bit hacked off with myself these days
- because of that it is difficult for me to post.
I've put 3 pounds on over the last two weeks which in itself would not have been so bad, but the reason for putting it on is entirely my own fault and completely avoidable.
It's purely down to a complete lack of self control on the eating front (aka greed) - both quality and quantity. I get through the day pretty much eating OK stuff - but on the evenings "Bad Preston" whispers things into my ear and I go on food raiding forays to the kitchen and gorge myself on slabs of bread, cake, bags of crisps. And ...it's not just once it's multiple times during an evening.
I know I'll overcome this at some point soon, but at the moment it seems beyond me. It's doubly galling because I'm doing quite well on the exercise front averaging between 60 and 100 bike miles per week over two to three days at the moment. It would be really easy to lose weight at the moment if it wasn't for the gorging.
Enough about me - it's very heartening to see everyone else on here doing so well. Keep up the good work guys! Loving the soup and other recipe ideas
Big Welcome from me to KTfab too - You'll do great on here - they really are a well-informed, very supportive, and friendly bunch.

Re: Weight Watchers
KTfab as you see we all have an inner "bad" side of us so we all find it hard to resist the "goodies". I am not supposed to eat sugary things but yesterday I was in the town and the bakers shop had three guys out in the street handing out small cupcakes advertising for Hallowe'en - so guess who had one!!
You are normal - so don't let your Mum or anyone get at you and take control of your own life and food intake. You'll have weeks when everything goes well but other weeks when you just can't resist the cakes, crisps etc. If it were so easy to lose even a pound a week then we would all be slim within a few months, but life isn't like that so we have to do the best we can to improve our health. If you have kids then get them to eat more healthy too and tell them why and I am sure they will help support you. My granddaughters know I have diabetes and when they are eating a cake they say to their mother "and remember gran can't have one" - so there is no way I can eat a cake in front of them.
Preston just think how much more weight you would have put on if you had not being cycling!! You'll get back to your usual eating habits I am sure and impress us all with your weight lose this coming week. I said I was recycling the three pounds I need to lose to reach a stone - but you are certaining recycling yours!!!!!!
I lost pounds yesterday - the £££'s not weight wise - these £££ are easy to get rid of in a matter of minutes!! went into town and b*ght myself a new winter coat and a top I fancied and it fitted better than it would have done a few months ago.
These are the incentives we need - bring on the new winter wardrobe!!!
