Re: Weight Watchers
Are you all following WW on this thread, or just trying to lose weight in general?

Re: Weight Watchers
As far as I am aware no one is following Weightwatchers. We are all doing our own thing by cutting down on carbs and calories and exercising more. We are trying to lose some weight to become fitter and healthier - some of us for medical reasons others just because they feel they need to lose some weight.asamaic wrote:Are you all following WW on this thread, or just trying to lose weight in general?
Join in whether you are following WW or Slimming World or on your own as we get great support from each other with ideas on what to eat etc. - plus a few cheeky comments!!!

Ah, bit of a misleading thread title then!biggins wrote:As far as I am aware no one is following Weightwatchers. I don't want to say I'm on a diet, because that word sounds rather temporary to me and being honest, I need to start making some more permanent changes. I can't keep yoyo-ing for the rest of my life!
I was ill the other week, which had the rather delightful silver lining of sorting out my appetite. I ate so little for those few days that when I recovered, I started eating 'normal' portion sizes without feeling hungry. I've b*ght a much smaller bowl for my morning cereal and that little change will, I hope, add up to a big one over time.
I've also swapped my daily Pret sandwich for soup and oatcakes. I love bread, it's my real weak spot, but my body hates it, always has done. Again, just a little change, but I'm trying to be realistic about what I will and won't stick with.
Heinz squeeze and stir soup is my new 'magic' food - it's not marketed as diet food, but it's low in calories and fat and tastes like 'proper' soup, rather than those horrible watery cup-a-soup affairs. It's also surprisingly filling and keeps me going at work. If anyone else has any tips, I'm more than happy to nick them!

Re: Weight Watchers
It was Bettyboop who started this thread who had joined weight watchers and the rest of us joined in on the healthy eating bandwagon.asamaic wrote:Ah, bit of a misleading thread title then!biggins wrote:As far as I am aware no one is following Weightwatchers. Well done on making those changes and it is as you say about keeping it real. My downfall is cakes so I have one large one once a week (maybe twice as now at target weight) otherwise its boring. Biggins the 5 beans were really nice.

Re: Weight Watchers
Well, I've just opened a Rolo and am munching my way through them . . . so I'd better not join in this thread tonight!

Re: Weight Watchers
I've got no chocolate in the house but would love a Rolo if you're sharing McG
I'm ashamed to say I had toast before I went to bed
- I don't want to get into the habit of having supper again after a substantial evening meal as I'll be back to square one before I know it. I've got quite a few Christmas do's planned already and unfortunately (from a weight point of view - eating wise and socialising wise I will love it) I have 3 meals out on consecutive days so this is where the trouble will start.
Menu of the day:
Porridge with a black coffee (300 calories)
Ham salad wholemeal bread sandwich with a weight watchers fromage frais (400 calories)
4 belvita biscuits at the cinema (220 calories)
I will eat something else when I get back for about 300 calories
It will be a rest day as I've got parent's evening at college (bit odd as she is 19) after work and before cinema so it will be cutting it extremely fine.
Have a fun day everyone.

Re: Weight Watchers
Where is everyone? I don't see any menus from which I can pinch ideas.
Menu of the day:
Cornflakes with a black coffee (300 calories)
5 beans on toast with a weight watchers fromage frais (350 calories)
Pumpkin, lentil and pea curry (607 calories) from this months magazine it looks delicious plus its 4 of your 5 a day (this should please MrGlass). I'll try to resist serving it with naan bread and basmati rice
I think it will be the dvd today as maybe a bit dark after work as working on and off until 8pm today - its quite an easy day as lots of gaps but I will try to be productive in the gaps but not enough time for a long walk but I will see.
Looking forward to lots of posts today

Re: Weight Watchers
A very damp dull day today. But going away again today to spend the night in a pub/hotel in East Lothian - another deal!!
So don't know what I'll be eating tonight but had cereal and banana and cup of tea this morning. I am taking a flask of coffee and a sandwich for hubby and I as we are going to stop and have a picnic lunch (sitting in the car probably
)somewhere. Not travelling far but again it is a night away at less than it would cost for a meal out - and gives us old yins a change of scene!!

Re: Weight Watchers
Hello!
Has everyone been good?
I always forget to write down my menus... I've been too greedy last week, being ill and home the whole time, eating and depressing in front of tv! I didn't eat too much junk food, or simply too much, but just too often I think. So now I'm back to being wise and healthy.
Yesterday:
- bowl of cereals and black tea
- tortellinis with tomato sauce and parmesan (and little pieces of knackies - frankfurters
)
- a veggie burger with fries (night out!)
Today:
- bowl of cereals and green tea
- rice / tuna / cherry tomato salad
Tonight? No idea... salad or soup! My fridge is full of lettuce and tomatoes!!
