asamaic wrote:I saw The Sapphires today as well. No breakfast, but a really big lunch at an Indian restaurant as my OH and I had a rare shared day off. Had seared scallops, followed by monk fish tails in a thick tomato based sauce with plain rice, together with a little bit of naan bread and a couple of spoonfuls of mango brûlée. Not the healthiest of meals, but I think I chose the least bad options and stopped eating when I was full. Probably going to have soup and/or oatcakes for dinner later, to minimise the damage.

At least no snacking! Plus we did a lot of walking today in the bitter cold. Winter is definitely here - am going to have to b*y some gloves and warm shoes.
Sounds like a lovely lunch - I just love Indian food. It is getting really cold now so we have to all wrap up warm.

Morning all. Going Xmas/birthday shopping this morning. Have so many to b*y for and a lot of November/December birthdays so will have to get started. :(

Today's menu: - special K and a banana. Lunch - homemade soup and a yoghurt. Tonight - beef casserole with lots of winter veg. Two crackers and cup of tea before bed.

No cinema for me tonight so will write some more of my xmas cards. o/

Hi everyone,

Well I weighed myself yesterday (after not having done so in about a month), & I'm happy to say I've maintained my weight - not lost or gained even a pound (how did that happen?!). Apart from walking to places or the odd bit of housework, not been able to exercise because of my health, so I'm quite pleased about the weight staying the same!

Biggins, try to write out a few Christmas cards a day. Depending on how many u have to write (I have around 50-75), aim for 5 a day.....& do the ones where no letters are necessary first. Get 5 a day sealed, stamps on, addresses written out. By the time you e done all them, the letter ones will be all you have left to do; when you go out & about, bring them with u & write them in any spare moments. That's what I do :)

I'm pleased to say I've b*ght all my Xmas presents now & they're nearly all wrapped :) I hate the thought of b*ying in December, I b*y throughout the year (cards, presents & wrapping paper in the January sales are good!); it's cheaper & you can really think about what people would like.

Sorry to sound like I'm showing off, don't mean to, just thought I'd offer my ideas at this hectic time of year!

Writing Xmas cards is so English! :p I was really surprised when I was an au pair and helped the kid to write all the cards for his teachers and friends' families. In France we simply send cards to family and close friends... I don't really get it although it's very nice.
I'd like to start my Xmas shopping but no one sends their list so I'm still waiting. It's annoying though cause I don't want to do it at the very last moment.

Today's menu:
- two chocolate muffins and an earl grey
- rice with tomato sauce, a toast with half a slice of ham and an egg
- ice cream cone :)
- rice with tomato sauce and a frankfurter (tonight is a big shift, I need energy!!!)

Be good everyone!

That's brilliant about not putting on any weight and well done too re Christmas organisation. We would never put you as a show off in a million years and its lovely being all sorted; I've just got to b*y the extra go with pressies which is nice to do as I don't have to b*y these but its an extra gift to open plus if I didn't get them its not a big deal so there isn't any pressure at all.

Rice with tomato sauce? Do you mean fresh tomatoes made into a sauce with boiled rice, a risotto or ketchup with rice? Can't work out which one.

I will be having daal, samosa and naan bread tomorrow - one of my Indian patients asked me last time they came to see me if I liked Indian food I said I loved it not for one minute thinking that his wife was going to make me some but she had been up early this morning to prepare it for me before his appointment - real authentic Indian food is my idea of paradise. I'm still stunned that someone could be so kind especially when I haven't done anything to deserve it.

That meant boiled rice, then a tomato & herbs sauce (like a pasta one) to which I added some blue cheese to add some taste. It's like eating pasta with sauce, except it's rice.

Thank you so much for always being so kind o/

Menu of the day:
Porridge (300 calories)
Garlic sausage salad with chilli sauce sandwich and an apple (350 calories)
Daal, samosa and naan bread (lets not even go there with the calories :shifty: )

It will be the DVD today - I know I'm repeating the exercise but I will do loads of walking when I'm away.

Enjoy your lovely indian meal Diane. That was very nice of her to go to the trouble she must think a lot of you to do that - you deserve it. o/

I am having an indian meal too but at a restaurant for lunch with my friend and then we are going to see Skyfall. Will have a snack instead of a meal when I get home tonight.

Exercise will be walking from home to the restaurant and up to the cinema and back again - unless it is pouring rain which is more than likely. :noo:

Enjoy your day everyone.
