You have to leave the city of your comfort and go into the wilderness of your intuition. What you will discover there will be wonderful, what you will discover is yourself

And that just goes to show that inspiration can be found anywhere and even more so in places you would never even have imagined !

:)

Here are some more from the man himself

- Be as smart as you can, but remember that it is always better to be wise than to be smart.

- Begin challenging your own assumptions. Your assumptions are your windows on the world. Scrub them off every once in a while, or the light won't come in.

- Laugh at yourself, but don't ever aim your doubt at yourself. Be bold. When you embark for strange places, don't leave any of yourself safely on shore. Have the nerve to go into unexplored territory.

- No man or woman of the humblest sort can really be strong, gentle and good, without the world being better for it, without somebody being helped and comforted by the very existence of that goodness.

and finally

- Here's my Golden Rule for a tarnished age: Be fair with others, but keep after them until they're fair with you.

What a wise man !

Met Alan Alda (by chance) in the Peking Hotel in early 1980s. We were living in Beijing and he was visiting (as many celebs did back in those old days when it was considered very exotic as Americans had only recently been allowed in). He was absolutely charming especially when my husband didn't comment about any of Alda's work but wanted to know what it was like working with Meryl Streep (The Seduction of Joe Tynan) and how much husband adored Meryl. Alan Alda agreed she was terrific and he certainly was a very modest man! He seemed more interested in our lives in Peking rather than his own starry career.

See you later, alligator!

After while, crocodile!

In an hour, sunflower!

Maybe two, kangaroo!

Gotta go, buffalo!

Adios, hippos!

Chow, chow, brown cow!

See you soon, baboon!

Adieu, cockatoo!

Better swish, jellyfish.

Chop chop, lollipop.

Gotta run, skeleton!

Bye-bye, butterfly!

Better shake, rattle snake.

Our weekdays now end,

So, good-bye, good friends and have a wonderful weekend!
