LOL at people taking the tv licence business seriously. :rofl2: :bwl:
102 Different free films seen in 2010 plus 2 repeat viewings and a few tv show screenings... not too shabby. Thanks to everyone for their contributions here.

If you look at the figures, I think a large part of TV owners p*y for their TV license in this country! A good £3.5b for 2009/2010 nicely re-invested in the diverse BBC branches http://www.bbc.co.uk/aboutthebbc/licencefee/

I don't have a TV (hence I don't p*y) but I am quite happy that so many people (25M) takes it seriously ;)

Have you tried looking on local community forums in the areas you're interested in? Some forums might have a property section - for eg the East Dulwich forum has quite an active section which is used by private landlords as opposed to agents and also by tenants. Also, I suspect that quite a few people find rooms through word of mouth. You could try posting on Facebook that you're looking for accomodation.

i'm also looking to move and am finding estate agents are horrible big bullied trying to scare me into getting something NOW. i hate them.

also i know it's further away but anyone looking for a property with cheap council tax should look in wandsworth = cheapest ever! half or more than some councils.

^ Make sure you're very firm with the estate agents. I've been dealing with them for a while now on my mums behalf and they really only care about the money. Seriously the pressure they've been putting on my mum has made her feel unwell. I can't wait till it's over and we'll be done with their ridiculous demands and ultimatums.

tv licence was one of the last things i sacrificed for my degree studies. before it the car, the (competition entry level) mountain bikes, the telephone line.

funny how the thing i didnt need, the tv, was one of the last to go!
fav 5 films of the year - Tenet, Bill n Ted 3, Invisible Man, JoJo Rabbit, ?

Don't you need a Tv license even if you watch programmes on the computer or the laptop etc?
