Re: New Moon
OMG, I'm so behind with this, I finally watched Twilight on DVD yesterday, I'd put it off as I didn't think it was my cup of tea, but curiosity got the better of me. I really liked it, I never understood what the fuss was about with Robert Pattison, but now I understand and have seen the error of my ways. I'm going to get the first couple of books at lunchtime

It's at the Odeon Leicester Square and I am going, thanks to 5rannoch! Anyone else? Would be hilarious if we went to the wrong cinema though. The email says to be there for 5pm due to the security checks, geez, are they planning to x-ray us??phunkygal wrote:so theres comps for at least 300 pairs of tickets for the new moon london screening on wednesday!!, must be at the big odeon as the me and the orson welles premiere is at the empire i believe

Re: New Moon
Just a quick word of warning for anyone going to the screening tonight - i've just been to the Cinema and spoken to Security and they have confirmed that all mobile phones will be confiscated until after the film.
No problem witht that but it took about half an hour after the film to get my phone back when this happened to me at a screening of Quantum of Solace last year. The foyer was mobbed with people all trying to do the same thing.
Therefore, i've leaving mine at home tonight.

Re: New Moon
I've just got back from the screening. Getting the phones back was very unorganised due to the people trying to queue and the people trying to get out getting in each others way. It didn't actually take us that long but it was very much a push and shove thing.
the film itself started about 30 mins late as they were waiting for Michael Sheen to arrive but he was stuck in traffic, however they did have another Brit, one of the new Characters, I didn't get to hear his name because of the screaming. We were up in the circle nad there must have been about 100 empty seats. Such a shame as there were obviously loads of peopel who wanted to go.
I personally didn't think much of the film, there again it wasn't aimed at me
I thought the effects were very poor and the film was pretty slow. The second hour was much better once there was a bit of action going on, and The Volturi made an appearace. I didn't find either of the male leads even remotely attractive but plenty of girls did hence loads of screaming and moaning hehe. All in all, not my thing but it will please the fans and make shed loads of money

Re: New Moon
Second attempt.
Well, that was an experience and a half.
We got there for 5pm after having left work an hour early (worked through my lunch), to arrive to a huge queue already. Had to hand over our phones straight away then collect our tickets at the appropriate desks. We got handed tickets for circle upstairs so went and got good seats near the balustrade. Some friends who had also managed to get tickets, arrived an hour later. They were handed tickets for the stalls but I intercepted them and smuggled them upstairs, not that anyone gave a damn. There was no ID checks or other checks for that matter, although my friend was asked whether she had a camera on her. We watched it slowly fill up although it never got entirely full, there were whole rows left empty at the back of the circle and to the left and right of the stalls.
We waited to 6.30pm and nothing happened, we got to 6.45pm and there was an apology for the delay due to the fact that they were "waiting for something that hasn't arrived yet."
That was the first time I heard it.
Hundreds of girls going "WAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
