La Luna was cute, but pretty forgettable by Pixar standards, to be honest. It looks nice enough, but there's not much to it.Yinster wrote:Perfectly written. Did you enjoy La Luna just as much as Brave? And did you catch the wee tiny bit at the end of the credits? I agree this could be one of my top three films of the year. Pity wikipedia has most of the plot on it already. Try not to read it or see the trailer as they do reveal some of the best bits.soonforgotten wrote:I was fortunate enough to catch this on Wednesday, as I have an interview with one of the directors and producers tomorrow. I have to say that this was not exactly a film I was terribly excited about. Gorgeous animation aside, it just didn't look like the kind of film I'd expect from Pixar.
And the truth is, it's not, but true to Pixar's abilities it is absolutely phenomenal. I'd guess it's almost certain to land in my top 3 of the year and I could easily see this getting a best pic nomination, which would be well deserved.
So here's my glowing, gushing review (spoiler-free, as always): http://londonfilmfanatiq.com/2012/07/01/brave/

Re: Brave
I am not sure whether this also applies for entry to the cinema in the O2, but please be aware of this if you have tickets for Brave there:
Coming to The O2 during the Games? From July 23rd security screening will be taking place, so arrive in plenty of time

Re: Brave
I think the security will be at the entrance to the 02, regardless of whether you are going to the cinema, restaurants etc.
Edit: I saw lots of tents set up when I was there on Sunday for The Lorax, and I expect that is where security will be (to scan bags etc).

Re: Brave
Saw this film a couple of weeks ago, it wasn't what I was expecting, but I found myself enjoying it.
When Disney tested this film back in Junuary there was hardly anything shot for the triplits (her three brothers in the film) however they tested so well thy shot further footage featuring them.
The Luna short was cool, but then most Pixar shorts usually are.

Re: Brave
I have seen the airport scanners, there are loads of them in tents outside already. What annoys me most is that you are not allowed to bring more than 100ml liquid in, so you would have to b*y overpriced drinks at the cinema. Not on.
