Crumbs, autumn has barely started - don't wish winter on us yet. I shall certainly not start a "Good Things About Winter" thread when it comes to it - unless to say "looking forward to spring".
Oops missed this earlier - no, Ms Thrifty, not quite ready for Winter either... I need a new coat for a start and haaven't the time to look for one. My next free weekend is in mid November so I'm hoping it's a loooooong Autumn, with weather a bit like what we have at the moment (if a bit less windy please). Optimism in buckets!
And if you do start that thread, you can add "Anakin's birthday"!! I hope it will make you smile as it will me!

Yes, weather at present is fabulous - in the sunny south at least. When it's like this I wish I could be out walking (and eating cake) every day!

And a not-so-good day, like today, is actually a useful opportunity to catch up on other things without feeling that you're squandering a sunshiny day. My beloved Hanwags are all old and worn or even older and more worn, so it's off to the boot shop to replenish my supply. Then, with any luck, back to the Indian summer tomorrow, as forecast. Seems I'm not the only one thinking of new boots, albeit a different type!

Loving the view across the square opposite my office! Also it's definitely boot weather so all my boots are getting an outing!!

And the trees are fabulous now - walking through Surrey and West Sussex yesterday, I thought the colours were absolutely stunning, and it's fun swishing through all the leaves. People with children have been really lucky with the half-term weather - it must have been the warmest October half-term for several years.

The toadstools are thriving, too - they must like warm, damp weather such as we've had lately. I've seen lots of tall, plump white ones, which I don't recall from previous years - oh, and a completely white squirrel!
