The Heat
Re: The Heat
Really funny film that kept me laughing throughout. Bullock and McCarthy made a good team and carried the story well. 8/10

Cinema wasn't too hot but I think as it was full the body heat from all those people made it hot.
Film was good. Funny in places but at times it drag. Why did everyone seem to die
by being shot in the head. Apart from the car bomb.
Also I am smiling cos I work out who Larkin was 7/10

Also Falkirk, Dunfermline and Stirling but these are rarely used for free previews.

Re: The Heat
This film was so much better than the trailer shows!! I guess that is because of all the swearing! It was very funny though, Melissa McCarthy has the best facial expressions in history!!!
Re: The Heat
Had an email from SFF this afternoon about tickets for Odeon West End and decided to switch cinemas on the chance that it might be a press/industry screening. It was.
We were treated to hotdogs, deepfried spicy cheese balls, beer and wine.
Anyway, when a gentleman came on to introduce the film and brag about how well it was doing in the States, I was hoping that Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy might leap out and say hello a la Nic Cage and Vanessa Hudgens at the Frozen Ground screening. This did not happen, sadly. But can't have hotdogs, beer and SB, that would be to good to be true....Unusually, they showed trailers for Wolverine, the new Percy Jackson film.
Thought the film was very good. Melissa McCarthy was excellent as the foulmouthed Mullins terrorising perps as well as her colleagues and her boss. This is the best comedy from Sandra Bullock since Miss Congeniality. Albeit alot more sweary and violent. Great chemistry between the two unlikely buddies. Very funny repartee between the two and good physical comedy as well.

Re: The Heat
Saw in Cineworld, Glasgow tonight with Yinster + OH and ploggit. I had fairly high expectations given some of the earlier reviews . . . and I wasn't disappointed!
Good script with some good throw away lines which I thought at the time "I must remember that!" but of course, I can't!
Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy made a very good team which I'm sure we will see again!
Much of the film was fairly light until
the bomb exploded in their car. That really caught me by surprise.
The film then seemed to take a more serious turn with
folk getting shot & killed
The final scene after the credits started is worth waiting for!
Really glad to have seen this film and would not have been unhappy if I'd had to p*y
Marks 8.5/10

Granted it may have been a bit predictable, but what matters in these kind of films is the vehicle that takes you on the journey to the predictable conclusion. Here, that was the comedy. And the comedy was genuinely laugh out loud funny which had the cinema in stitches. That's what carried the film for me.
Bring on the inevitable 'The Heat 2: Extra Hot'!

Re: The Heat
I knew I should hve gone to Vue West End
MInd you, Wandsworth was nice and cool, which was the reason for going really
I really enjoyed this. yeah predictable but it was just what I wanted and it made me laugh out load a lot. Some of the wise cracks were so fast,it seemed to get missed by some people
Puss In Boots
. I love the Bostonian family, and could quite happily see them in a spin off of their own. 7/10
the cat can have his own show as well, and the artwork

Re: The Heat
It was worth coming out of the heat to see The Heat last night.
Although formulaic there were many laugh out loud moments for me.
I agree with Spyder_Webb , bring on The Heat 2.
For what it was 8.5/10.

Re: The Heat
I absolutely loved this!
I am starting to think I might have a touch of SAD, ever since the sun started working again I've loved every movie, that's five in a roll! I was a little worried as the last movie I liked before the big slump was Mud and that was in April, everything else has been simply appalling including my most anticipated film of the year - Gatsby.
Back to The Heat, its been a while since a comedy has made me laugh at all let alone out loud throughout the film. Melissa McCarthy and Sandra Bullock were a fantastic duo and would be great to see them again in the future. I also managed to work out who Larkin was, but though I'll be proven wrong and "why are you so pale?" will take the crown.
The only little criticism would be the drunken scene was too long and boring, seen it all before montage that could've been cut short.
