As a follow up to my previous post, I will stick my neck out and say that the reason that some people are not enjoying the film is because of the drink. This is not an action film, so if you're sozzled and sitting there twiddling your thumbs waiting for something to happen, you're going to have a L-O-N-G wait.

Go see it sober.

There is a reason that this is the most profitable film of all time.

Yeah but wasnt our fault, the film publicists got us drunk before the previews! Hence the conspiracy tone

Indeed!

I went to a preview of Quantum of Solace in Leicester Square last year where there was a free champagne reception for 2 hours before the film started. By the time I took my seat, which was in the front row with an enormous screen before me, I was half cut and desperate for the loo!

Alcohol and the cinema just do not mix. :nono: It seems like a good idea at the time but you soon regret it.

It's ok at home though where you just pause the dvd as many times as you want for refreshment breaks. :p

Yeah to be honest I never understand that anyway. I have been to a number of screenings with a reception beforehand, they even allow you to take your beer into the screening room with you - then everyone needs the loo every half hour and disturbs everyone else! And you never get much to eat with it either!

Not perfect by any means, but not bad - not bad, at all, in fact.

A few plot loopholes (watch the film, and you'll see what I mean), but overall spooky stuff.

Anyone see the screenings they are doing tomorrow at Vue? They are "web exclusive" and you are suppose to enter a code before you are allowed to b*y tickets! Geez, is this the future of things to come with SFF? So it's like SFF but you have to p*y!
Anyone actually know the code for tomorrow night? Or maybe when you enter the code on the vue website, then it comes up as free? Anyone with the answers.....?

so unfair, they never have a champagne reception before a movie in Leicester? Don't even think this will be showing in Leicester. At work so I've only read a few comments about this film ...is it like a remake of the poltergeist?
