I was at WIQ too last night. Was one of the first to arrive and waited outside Screen 2 to be told to wait in the bar upstairs, and I told them I was happy to wait there, whereupon they decided to get some cordons to cordon me off from the entrance to the screen 2 and once the previous audience left screen 2 at a prior pa*d screening (I think it was Hercules), they put another cordon in front of the entrance which said cleaning in progress. By this time, a long queue had formed and Beate and OH arrived too.

Finally about 4 staff and 1 Sun+ Rep (presumed he was as he had a visitor badge on), fussed about, not sure what they were doing until we reminded them that we needed 3D glasses, then one of the staff with the phone ran off and returned with two boxes of 3D glasses and trading cards to hand out. Then there was some confusion of who was doing what amongst the 4 staff and 1 rep. Finally, they let us in.

Not sure why the floors were really sticky as we struggle to get to our seats with our shoes sticking at every step! There were two rows of seating marked 'star seating' which were covered in what looked like leather pvc rather than cloth, so we thought we tried those, but it was quite hard seating.

The film was entertaining and quite fun in parts. Loved Groot. Loved the music. However, thought the 17 minutes trailer at the fan event was so much better, they seemed to have put the best bits in that, and to see it on an IMAX screen made it awesome, so to see it on a much smaller screen at WIQ, just did not do it justice, I thought. Disappointed they cut the end credits. It looked like there was something and then the screen just went off. People who sat to wait, groaned. Everyone was well behaved in our section, no noisy neighbours or anything.

Saw this in IMAX last night and OH MY GOD IT WAS FANTASTIC! Incredible Sci Fi, the whole way through I was either smiling, laughing or almost crying. The whole thing felt fluid and natural and I adored the comedy in the film - with some Marvel films (I'm looking at you Thor: TDW) it feels forced down your throat but this all felt so in character and real that it just worked, completely and absolutely.

I would call it tied best Marvel film with Captain America: TWA and The Avengers (all very different in tone so I can't put one above the other).

I loved just how much character and well written every member of the cast was, even down to bit players they all seemed to have depth and history. With a sequel incoming I hope to see more of the Nova Corps and the universe in general.

My only (very small) issue with the film is
Spoiler
Show
Marvel still can't come up with a villain to match Loki. I know that Thanos will be that next big bad, but it's unlikely we'll see him in full swing for at least another 3-5 years. Yes Nebula got away but she didn't get as much menace as she should've done for someone who is going to obviously turn up again. Ronan may have been fairly cookie cutter in his villainy but he could've potentially been built upon in future quite well if they hadn't decided to kill him off, just disabling or banishing him would've done it quite well.
Overall I have to give GOTG a 9.9999/10, but that 0.0001 is down to my gripe in the spoiler tag and doesn't really harm the film itself, so I'll round it up to a 10/10 ;)

To be honest, I wasn't expecting many children as it was an evening screening so I was a bit put out, although I must say that the lad sitting next to OH was polite enough, and apologetic after he'd ripped his Marvel trading card game open, it exploded and several cards hit me in the head, LOL.
Had to dash to the screening from Old Street so collapsed on the row just in front of the "leather" seats and Laura arrived about 5 mins before the screening as she had run from Mayfair. Whilst you were queuing outside of the screen you might have seen the group of young children running around...it was that group that was sat behind us. I know I'm not the first person to moan on here but I do find going to the cinema less and less enjoyable nowadays due to the inconsiderateness of others around me. I'm sure I remember people going to the cinema to watch a film and that was it but now it seems to be a place to go to eat your weight in smelly/noisy food, talk to partner/kids, update social media on your phone or something else....I'll get my whinge coat!

In the minority. I didn't enjoy this. I was bored and not entertained by the non jokes. I had thought the trailer looked bad and nit to my taste but the reviews were so good I thought I must have been mistaken. I wasn't I really didn't like this at all. Glad everyone else liked it.

Thoroughly enjoyed and definitely up there with the best of the Marvels. Rocket rocked!

Regarding the post-credit stinger, it's so hard to talk about it without ruining it entirely so I'll put it in a spoiler tag, even though it's barely a spoiler.

It doesn't set-up any future MCU movies but rather just gives us 80s sci-fi fans a laugh!
Given the humorous, tongue-in-cheek tone of this movie, I thought it was perfect.

Went to a cast and crew preview screening in Leicester Square a week ago, with a friend of mine who was part of the VFX team of this film.

I thoroughly enjoyed the film, since it's quite humorous. Good soundtrack. Loved Groot and Rocket Raccoon. It's a pity that the post-credits scene was cut out, though. 8.5/10

This was buckets of fun and Marvel’s best film since Avengers Assemble in my view and a vast improvement over Captain America: Winter Soldier. It has such a fun upbeat vibe and doesn’t take itself too seriously. I was laughing out loud often and the soundtrack really suits the tone of the film. I saw this at the BFI IMAX yesterday and it was an incredible experience with impressive 3D and the set pieces felt epic. The film has lots of personality and but the villains are very poor (compared to previous baddies such as Loki) which is a let-down for me. 8.5/10.

I won tix to see it at the Empire Imax and can't wait to see it again. Re the Villains, its so tough when there is a Loki or a Joker, as there will probably never be such great characters created. Bane anyone?

The problem with using TDK trilogy as an example though is that there have only been 3 films, whereas GOTG is Marvel's 10th film, so proportionatly there should've been at least one more stand out villain in Marvel, but so far any who might've been have been killed off or removed in a way that it's unlikely we'll see them again.
