Re: No Strings Attached
I'm a softee when it comes to romcom. It's a light movie, very predictable but since I'm always looking for light entertainment after stressful day, this is good! Didn't expect Portman to take such a role but yeah I guess she needed the break too after the intense Black Swan. hehehe
Oooo the best part definitely the snoring guy!
BTW, I got there quite early (at least the light still on!) and we got quite a good seat. Ohhh and love the sign language short movie too! cutesyyyy! Butttt popcorn on my seat already STOLEN!!! luckily we still have the one on OH's seat. mmmmmm can't they wait until the show is over or at least started to be sure it's an extra
not very nice.

Re: No Strings Attached
I saw this at the Silverlink a few days ago courtesy of Andrews' generosity.
The film was light-hearted and amusing. All in all, reasonable enough and easy to watch romcom fayre.
I found it interesting to be able to compare Natalie Portman's contribution in this, to her rather more breathtakingly accomplished performance in The Black Swan. Portman and Kutcher without doubt carried the film, as others have pointed out, and had sufficient chemistry going on between them to make a very believable couple.
Kutcher does, however, come across to me as a bit of a typecast one trick pony, but with Portman there is the feeling that she has the ability to portray a much greater range of characters. She is, I think, definitely a talent to watch out for in the future.
6 out of 10 from me for this.

Re: No Strings Attached
The trailer looks like its more rommy, but still keeping enough lad jokes to keep the fella's entertained.
The trailer on the telly was funny.

Re: No Strings Attached
Just back from the screener. It was pretty good, funnier than expected. There was some flaws which made it not perfect. But, very happy overall to have seen it!
Sadly had the "screamers" behind me. Who had an accentric laugh for everything.

Re: No Strings Attached
grrr to the people sat next to me who spent the entire film fiddling on the phone & texting, if you find the film that boring LEAVE! if there's some massive emergency and you're texting because you should be at the hospital also LEAVE! Otherwise shut the phone off for 90 mintues the world (and you) can survive, there's no need to sit there and ruin the film for other people.

Re: No Strings Attached
I'm hoping for another chance to see a preview (and for rawr_xoxo). Couldn't make it to London last Tuesday so was aiming for Guildford this morning. That was before I discovered that owing to engineering work there were no trains so I'd have had to drive and I'm so tired that to have done that would have been irresponsible. Think the release isn't until 25 February so here's hoping...
Re: No Strings Attached
Unfortunately there is a sizable percentage of people who are oblivious of other people, and just go through life being very annoying. I've found the only way to snap them out of it, is to tell them to put the phone away, it doesn't tend to go down too well, but to date, it's always had the desired effect.elski wrote:grrr to the people sat next to me who spent the entire film fiddling on the phone & texting, if you find the film that boring LEAVE! if there's some massive emergency and you're texting because you should be at the hospital also LEAVE!
