I thought this was just as good on second viewing. The destruction of Hogwarts really is a sight to behold! The Harry vs Voldemort finale is a bit of a let down but the Hogwarts battle overall is excellent, and I particularly liked Neville and Professor McGonagall getting their moments to shine.

The highlight of the film for me is still Alan Rickman's performance, he nails those flashback scenes and those were the moments that made me the most emotional (again!).

One thing I noticed is that when Harry hugs Hagrid at the end, the special effect is really shoddy and looks like an unfinished green screen shot.

I ended up seeing this in 3D and was hoping to use Mr Glass's 3D to 2D glasses but they didn't work!! So I had to sit through the unnecessary 3D again. I may go and see this for a third time and it will definitely be in 2D!

I'd say 2D. The 3D doesn't really add anything, and you can appreciate the beauty of the film more in 2D.

I'd agree, 2D was definately more popular when we went to see it.

I'd agree, 2D was definately more popular when we went to see it.

I have seen it in both versions (sort of, first 20mins in 3d then I put on a 3d to 2d conversion glass). Then I went to see it again in proper 2D which is far far superior, please go see it in that format and enjoy!

However, if you like 3D and you feel you must see it in 3D then only see it in IMAX which generally has the best 3D projections and with its large screen format, the 3D is more effective.

HPDHP2 may have smashed box office records by a forlong but this does not indicate its quality and critic reactions...BUT THIS DOES!

97%...from a conclusive accumulation of 228 media critic reviews is astounding. I never would have thought it would have that high a percentage. 97%. Bloody hell as Ron would say. To compare, the second most rated HP film was Azkhaban at 91% with similar vote counts.

I know most of us love the film but do we expect it to be this highly praised? Does it actually deserve it?!?

I think it's for a large part due to sentimental value. Whether you're a fan of just the movies or also the books, it's truly the end of an era. I admit there were some flaws and things I would've wanted to see differently, but overall I was impressed and in awe and overwhelmed by emotions; which all attributed to the fact that I while perhaps not 100% perfect if I really think about it, I did initially perceive the movie that way and praise it as such.
