Stocksbridge Park Steel - Free Entry 28th January

On the 28th of January Stocksbridge Park Steels will be offering free entry for their league game against North Ferriby United. Stocksbridge are trying drum up some local support and attract some new and old fans, and business to the ground. We really want a sell out (free out). The cost is usually £7. So if you are not going to anything for the weekend why not try your local non league club, and visit the look local stadium to watch South Yorkshires top non league club.

Borehamwood Re-Arrangement

Following the abandoned game on New Year's Day, our home league fixture against Boreham Wood will now be played on Tuesday 14th February.

There will be no admission charge on the night; this applies to all spectators so there will be no need to bring vouchers or ticket stubs. Hopefully this will also attract spectators who did not go to the original game so we will also be inviting spectators, without any obligation, to make a donation - to p*y what they like.

There are 22 big screens operating at locations across the UK. Working with the BBC and local authorities, they feature all the latest action and news from London 2012.


They also feature a broad range of UK-wide and local content, events and partnerships with community, arts and media organisations.



Celebrations across the capital


London Live 2012 is the UK’s biggest free celebration of the London 2012 Games, taking place at three of London’s most iconic locations: Hyde Park, Victoria Park and Trafalgar Square.

There will be live coverage of all the medal events on state-of-the-art screens, a variety of entertainment including live music and outdoor arts, plus opportunities to try out Olympic and Paralympic sports.

There are also two special Celebration Concerts in Hyde Park which will coincide with the Opening and Closing Ceremonies. Ticket prices and headline acts for these will be announced in early 2012.

During the school holidays The FA Tesco Skills coaches run taster sessions as an introduction to the Programme for boys and girls of all abilities. These sessions are entirely free thanks to Tesco, who hire all the venues used during the Holiday Sessions as part of their commitment to promoting a healthy lifestyle and supporting the development of the future of football in England.

Our free Holiday Sessions take place during the Easter and Summer holidays, as well as every school half term. There are no free Holiday Sessions during the Christmas school holiday.

Free tickets to various kent attractions 17th & 18th March

Kent Tourist board have brought back their big weekend, where free tickets to top attractions are on offer to residents of Kent.

Apply now to be entered into a ballot for F=free tickets to a wide range of Tourist attractions. (120 to choose from!)

You can receive a maximum of 2 tickets per household pending a successful selection from the ballot.

When you enter the ballot you chose to apply for a ticket on either Saturday 17th or Sunday 18th March 2012! (The date you chose will be the only day you can redeem you ticket!)

As this is drawn on a ballot you don't have to rush in selecting your tickets... just make sure if you are going to try for some that you enter before 13th February (Midnight) when the ballot will close!

Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant

Celebrate the Diamond Jubilee along the Thames as hundreds of boats decked out in Union Jack flags float up the river.

Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant

See one of the largest flotillas ever assembled on the River Thames, as London celebrates The Queen's 60th year as the reigning monarch.

Up to 1,000 boats are expected to take part in the pageant, including those used by the armed forces and emergency services, as well as historic boats, wooden launches and steam vessels.

Each craft will be decorated streamers and Union Jack flags, and the passenger boats will carry up to 30,000 members of the public.

Other highlights of the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant include:
•Music barges
•Boats spouting geysers
•Pyrotechnic barges releasing smoke and daytime fireworks
•A floating belfry
•A gun salute
•Family fun at Battersea Park, with music, a traditional funfair and Jubilee-themed entertainment

Where to Watch the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant

Watch the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant for free along the River Thames. There will be up to 50 big screens along the route so wherever you're standing, you will see the flotilla!

The lead vessel is expected to pass under Battersea Rail Bridge at 2.30pm and reach Tower Bridge at 3.30pm. The last vessel passes through Tower Bridge at 5pm. After that, the boats will begin to disperse.

Welcome in the Chinese New Year in London. The major celebrations in Central London are the largest outside Asia.

Chinese New Year in London

Chinese New Year 2012, the Year of the Dragon, falls on 23 January. London's main celebrations will be held on 29 January.

The main London Chinatown Chinese Association celebrations take place in Trafalgar Square, Leicester Square and Chinatown. This year's festivities include:
•A parade in Chinatown
•A display by 100 performers in Trafalgar Square, including the Chen Brothers who hold the Guinness World Record for the highest pole jump in flying lion dance
•An exciting fireworks finale

About Chinese New Year

Chinese New Year is a huge festival among Chinese communities in London and across the world.

Based on the lunar and solar calendars, the actual date of Chinese New Year varies, but always falls between late January and mid February.

Each year in the Chinese calendar is represented by one of the 12 animals of the Chinese zodiac, and 2012 is the Year of the Dragon.
