Hey y'all!

Nice to make your acquaintance a second time around. I'd already been a member of this wonderful site and got to see some great films but due to circumstances had to spend my time in a more productive fashion (although what can be more productive than watching films, right?). Anyway, so here I am back again now that my schedule is a bit lighter, hoping to get back to one of my greatest passions!

See y'all around :D

Hi,

I enjoy most genres with the exception of horror. I try to get to the cinema as often as I can which is about every 3 to 4 weeks.

Hello,
I am 51 years old, new to fmuk, and have spent much of my time for a long time now, renovating an old long-uninhabited house (a former retirement home) in Surrey to the point it is now liveable-in (I am writing this from it..), result : not much time to see films. But it is nearly there so I've joined this forum. The last three films I have seen have been The Intern (a free preview viewing at the Everyman theatre, Oxted - a very memorable and human Robert de Niro film); Eddie the Eagle (a free preview viewing - loved it, and finding myself last year in the Alps I went to Courchevel to see an actual olympic ski jump, walked and stood at the top and remembered Eddie....), and this year, pa*d-for tickets, La La Land; I was not expecting to like it much as a "musical", but it was a really enjoyable film. Ending was slightly unexpected which also made that part, memorable too (and I am someone with a bad memory, so if I remember a film - other than in disgust ! - that's a good thing). If I see relevant freebies or competitions, I will post on relevant part of this site.

Hi guys,

My name is Stéph and I've just come from my first free screening at the Rio (Call Me By Your Name), and the lovely lady sitting next to me, Esther, mentioned this forum to to me so here I am.

I love most film genres, what I care about is whether a film is well-made and whether the story is coming through. So that could be most things, hah. I also like going to different, quirky cinemas, especially ones off the beaten track (although all one really needs is a screen and salt popcorn IMO). So l, yes, that's me!

Many thanks to Esther for sharing this with me!

Stéph

Great intro posts paolo and Dragenphly welcome to the forum.

I suggests all newcomers should be held to this standard in future or instabanned

Admittedly I have been not very active on here the past month or so reintroducing myself to get the ball rolling. I'm Katie and a History of Art Student in Scotland. I have always loved films but do dip in and out of it so would like to get back into them properly! I am starting some cinema modules next semester and am super excited to be studying film again! If you see a goth lady in an Edinburgh screening - it'll probably be me!
