Imagined Lives Poetry Project

13 February - 15 February 2012, 11:00-16:00

Meet in the Main Hall

11:00-16:00 daily

Free

Young People

There are fourteen unidentified portraits in a new display, Imagined Lives, at the National Portrait Gallery: come and give these mysterious faces their own story. Create their pasts and futures with the help of award-winning poet Ross Sutherland (The Times “Top 10 Literary Star”). What happened to these people? Over two days of workshops, the group will create exciting new lives for their characters, then turn them into a series of poems and spoken word performances, inspired by the portraits. On a third and final day, the group will reconvene in the Gallery for a performance of their work. There are no limits to how strange these new histories can be!

For 14 - 21 year olds. Booking required. To book a place please email youthbookings@npg.org.uk or call 020 7312 2483.
