Re: Weight Watchers
Preston I just use this, as it's recommended by scottish slimmers as a good low fat sauce. It's obviously a chinese style sauce but it is really tasty. You can get it at B&M and farmfoods I think. Just mix with water, obviously it does have some MSG so just beware if you are a bit intolerant.
I just rub some on the uncooked breast meat, grill and then add to stir fried onion and peas. Whip up the sauce and have with a half bag of rice. Comes in at less than 450 calories (including rice) for a good sized portion.
Otherwise, track back and find one of moviemanns delicious Indian curries. Obviously healthier as they are from scratch!

So now you tell me after spending a fortune on lotions and potionsTheyCallMeMrGlass wrote:DOnt forget to eat all colours of veggies in the week everyone... no beauty cream and aging potions can match the wonders that regular veggie eating can do for your health, looks and skin tones. Veggies and plenty of water is the true fountain of youth. Its not all about losing weight, its about looking vibrant and healthy too. Variety of veggies and water do that for you. Fruits in small moderation because they have sugar, dont forget that.
Preston1990 as Moggers says moviemann's recipes are healthier and very easy to make plus delicious
Thanks for all the tips about Venice just 9 days to go
Have a fun day everyone I will post later as need to get to work.

Re: Weight Watchers
moviemannn has been very bad recently and has not been posting on this wonderful thread
a thousand apologies...
I promise to post something proper a bit later today and will include a recipe especially for the legend Preston1990. (I was born and brought up in Preston by the way and I still consider myself to be a northerner and a proud Prestonian even though I have lived longer in London now than I did in Preston!)
It's so Great to read that everyone's doing so well and great to see Preston1990 really liven up this thread!

Oh, well!
Really? Awww, thanks Mr G - I was worried that I'd be in trouble there. And......You know that it's 5 pounds, only because it's been the first real week of effort I've put in - next week will be more modest I'm sure.TheyCallMeMrGlass wrote:Preston1990 wrote:lost 5 pounds this week - bracing for "loose skin" lecture

I've never lived in Preston, but I know it quite well because I was there for a work related block release course in 1990. It's where I met my first wife - (I call her that so she doesn't get too complacent
TODAY'S MENU
1. Porridge, skimmed milk, blackberries - still the hand-picked ones
2. Pan fried herrings, char-grilled courgettes. Pot of tea
3. Ham salad
4. 2 digestive biscuits
5. Tea, Toast, marmite.
No exercise today as I waited in for daughters new computer to arrive - it didn't
Be good everyone - keep eating those rainbow veggies!!!

Re: Weight Watchers
I can't eat a lot of fruit as although I love it fruit isn't good for diabetics as Mr G says - too much sugar.
Today I had cereal with blackberries - picked another lot yesterday as there seems to be masses of them around just now. Lunch was a bowl of the famous soup.
Tonight had a baked potato with roast pork, lettuce, vine tomatoes and cucumber. Two ryvita with a scrape of butter before bed tonight.
Trying to be good as I have lost a pound this week and so feel that the effort has been worth while. Still a long, long way to go and next week is a bad week for eating out - hubby's birthday, meeting friends for lunch, and an overnight stay at a hotel with another meal. So three days of eating out.

Don't worry too much about next week - perhaps you could do an extra swimming session or a bit more walking to off-set those meals out
I'm loving your healthy sounding menu too. I'm going to b*y a packet of Ryvita tomorrow because you've reminded me just how good they are as part of a diet. I'll try and get some of those Matzo crackers that Moggers mentioned too the other day as well - I've never seen or heard of them before but I'd like to try them

Re: Weight Watchers
Matzo are sort of like a water biscuit but nicer plus the same size as a cream cracker, get the wee ones. I get them from sainsburys. Might weigh in tomorrow just to see how the gym and being a bit better on food is going. Next weekend is a bit of a bust again but the last of our re-enactment calendar and last camping trip of the season. We've only been camping twice this year which is a shame! Making tablet and goodies for the big feasty type celebration next Saturday night. I did the gym yesterday, oh my goodness it was hard, my legs were still sore from Wednesday lol. Drama class, quick food shop and then off to see the local football team this afternoon.

My local supermarket apparently only stock one sort:moggers wrote:Matzo are sort of like a water biscuit but nicer plus the same size as a cream cracker, get the wee ones

Are these the "wee" ones that you are saying to get, Moggers?
I love getting weighed - kinda sad I know, but seeing what progress I have or haven't made, really spurs me on to try and be good diet and exercise wise.moggers wrote:Might weigh in tomorrow just to see how the gym and being a bit better on food is going.
Fantastic! That really shows the exercise is doing you some goodmoggers wrote:I did the gym yesterday, oh my goodness it was hard, my legs were still sore from Wednesday lol.
Pain is just weakness leaving the body
TODAY'S MEALS
1. Pot of Earl Grey Tea w/slice of lemon. Handful of walnuts in shells. Cracking them reminds me of Christmas day when I was a kid. Always used to get them along with loose change and tangerines in our Christmas stockings.
2. Big bowl of mixed leaves, extra rocket leaves, red onion, red chilli, lemon houmous, red/yellow/green peppers, celery, boiled rice, *broad beans, smoked ham and salmon mouse.
3. Melon, papaya and strawberries.
4. Tomato Pappa Soup (An easy Jamie "20 min meal" recipe - Homemade by yours truly
* Whilst I was depodding my broad beans today, I was reminded of a catchy little singalong tune. I believe we FMUK Weight Watchers should adopt this as our very own to remind us of the benefits of eating lots of colourful vegetables.

In my head, I have this wonderful vision of Diane singing along to it in the mornings, whilst she does her arm exercises
Be good everyone - and all you absentees report back in soon!

Re: Weight Watchers
They are the large ones Preston. They are huge!! You can break into 4 sort of. 78 calories for the whole thing, I just find it easier with the smaller 18 calorie version :) for portion control lol as I eat the whole thing rather than just 2 bits. Very low in fat though and reasonably tasty considering.
Love walnuts too, I like most things. That's my problem lol.
