The Pontack Sauce sounds absolutely delicious Baty ! Thank you so much for the recipe as i am definatley going to try it out and make it ! I reaaaaally like the thought of all those berries in the sauce and i'm savouring the idea of pouring it over a nice juicy medium rare sirloin steak with asparagus and chips , mmmmmmmmmmmmmm mmmmmmmmmm, thanks again ! :)

Woke up late today so had a late breakfast at about 10.30am of the usual porridge and protein shake , going to mow both the lawns in a bit as the weather seems ok then hit the gym at about 1.30-2pm , plan to do about 1 mile of non stop swimming (80 laps ) then hit the sauna and steam room to relax out . Post gym will be a protein shake , banana , apple and green tea and if still hungry then will find some other things :) off out bit later though with friends for nice big meal , possibly Turkish restaurant or maybe even this place if were up for the drive as bit far out

http://bigmoesdiner.co.uk/# , its an 1950's America style diner (lovvvvvve back to the future !!)

and here is the menu http://bigmoesdiner.co.uk/menu/main-menu.pdf,

Extremely Calorie filled but hey after a a round of gardening, a mile swim, sauna and a week of work and going to the gym .... why not??????????? :D :D

hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend so far :)

mmmmmmm got given a sea bass and have just pan fried the fillets, then finely shredded garlic, ginger and chilli, tossed them in the pan to cook through, splash of soy (gluten free for me) and poured over the fish. OH made the rice. yummmmmm

Moviemannn, any chance your mum could give you the birynai recipe to share?

Hey Baty

Just b*y this

http://www.tesco.com/groceries/Product/ ... =256571265

The recipe for this biryani is written on the back of the packet.

THIS is THE spice mix and recipe for all authentic Bombay style Biryanis

Most people including my mum follow this recipe , the difference with my mum is that instead of this spice mix she sometimes uses her own spice combinations and she also adds tomoatoes. Also with mum its a case of shes been making it for so long that it always always comes out perfect and sometimes she would do a few things that are different and make it work amazingly . A great tip is to roast the potatoes in the oven like you would with normal roast potaoes and add them in at the end and then add some sliced lemons on top of the biryani and let the flavour infuse for for a short while into the top layer of rice before serving. Just different things like this really make a huge difference and a totally amazing eating experience :)

Once you get the hang of this recipe and have a made it a few times, you too can adapt and change it to how you prefer and soon you will have your own famous biryani too :)

Enjoy , its quite simple once you get the hang of it and amaaaaaazingly delicious !

We are made of tougher stuff in Manchester and I'm sure that Biggins and Baty are still swimming and fishing so get out on that bike and embrace the elements.

8O Ha! That's rich coming from the girl who at the first sign of inclement weather ups and offs to warmer climes!

Anyway leaving your insult to one side Diane, I'm pleased to report that I've lost three pounds this week. So I'm in an unshakable good mood and can deal with anything ;)

Good luck to any others who's weigh-day is today ;) o/

Will post my menu etc when I check out what food is in the fridge/freezer. :D

Thanks for the congrats JoJo and Biggins

Biggins don't be too disheartened about your no loss this week - at least you are maintaining, and that in itself can be quite an achievement o/

Baty your sea bass meal sounded wonderful as did your Mum's Biryani, Moviemannn. Thanks for posting the Tesco link for the Biryani Mix too and telling us about the recipe listing on the packet. I'll have to try that at some point, but I believe that it's quite calorie laden - so I'll save it to have as a treat for when I've lost a bit more weight.

TODAY'S MENU

1. Mixed cereal (the dregs from all the nearly run out boxes, that people are now ignoring, that are jamming the breakfast cereal cupboard up: porridge, muesli, rice crispies and coco pops ;) ) with blackberries and skimmed milk.

2. Caramel Chilli Half Chicken - had intended having a portion of this with a green salad but it was so delicious I ended up eating it all on its own, warm, as it came out of the oven. The box tells me it weighed 744g and claims it is 230 cals per 125g serving. A worse case scenario would mean that this works out at 1369 calories but as some of the original weight was carcass (and therefore not eaten) I'm hoping that it was a bit less than that. :shifty:

3. An iced raspberry doughnut :tears:  I know, it just gets worse!!

4. Salad leaves, chopped up peppers, celery, coronation coleslaw, grated carrots and celeriac, slice of cooked chicken, radishes, red onions.

5. Tea and toast with tomatoes, black olives and a drizzle of olive oil.

I Kind of went off the rails a bit today - never mind - I'll try and be good tomorrow!! :shifty: ;)

Keep posting everyone :shifty: ...or risk a telling of from the lovely Diane, when she returns :P :D

Well done that is brilliant :cheer: I forgot to get on the scales this morning  especially after all the ice creams I've been having plus the pizza and pasta and the delicious breakfasts - they had everything from bruschetta, cooked breakfasts, cooked meats, petit fours, vast array of fruit and salad including baked apples wrapped in filo pastry stuffed with sultanas, a baked thing with eggs, peppers, tomatoes etc not and omelette but something like it which was delicious, cereals, yoghurt pots with diced pineapples on top and I'm ashamed to say I tried virtually everything over the 3 mornings followed by various breads and pastries but I did drink lots of water plus walk around constantly everyday. I will post about the trip on the holiday thread as it is well worth a visit and not expensive as I was lead to believe.

It will be a bit hit and miss for me until Sunday as at a 50th party on Friday evening, working late tomorrow plus have to be in Northampton by 11am and in my Mother's car as it's much bigger than mine. Biggins you have maintained which is good o/

Lovely to have moviemann and Baty back on board as I've missed you both. As for Preston1990 I think you'll find that I still swan off in the cold so don't have wussy tendencies ;)
