Arghhh! I really want to see this.... I have 1 Vue voucher which expires on Tuesday and was thinking of treating myself to a quality sunday afternoon birthday treat of a film and the nearest Vue showing it is about 50 miles away!!
Do I... Could I... Possibly p*y!? It might be the only way.

The only real downside of this great site is by the time films get to the cinema and take up their space in the multiplex you tend to have seen the ones you want to or have heard enough to decide not to bother with the others.
I think Contagion is favourite at the moment.

We saw this yesterday at Hackney's brand new Picturehouse with free tickets collected the day before upon showing our copy of The Hackney Gazette. A really powerful film -- certainly not an easy or relaxing watch but really well done. I did think that the flashbacks might be a bit confusing (if you hadn't read the book) but husband assured me everyone would have read it! This was a small screening room but it was pretty much full.

Caught up with this yesterday and absolutely agree with ewjrank's comment about the film not being comfortable or relaxing to watch, but powerful. At first I was even wondering whether I had made a mistake and wouldn't be able to sit through it, such was the air of lurking menace, but as has also been said here, you don't see actually see anything graphic or gory but the impression is none the less grim for that.
After this gruelling start, I was really glad to see two funny plays to relieve the tension and gloom!

As much as I can't stand Tilda Swinton (completely biased opinion from me, I think I just don't like her physically) I don't understand why she did not get the Best Actress at Cannes???
Was Kristen Dunst so good in Melancholia??

I am in full agreement here. I think Dunst's tits won it for her. She's good in it, but her character is really bizarre in the second half of the film.
102 Different free films seen in 2010 plus 2 repeat viewings and a few tv show screenings... not too shabby. Thanks to everyone for their contributions here.

Seen We need to talk about Kevin tonight. Can understand why the critics are raving about it but its not everyone's cup of tea...
Not having read the book I thought it was quite good.
Defintely agree that its 'unconfortable' at times... the screening was exceptionally quiet as well which added to the tension.
