What a plum!
My +1 didn't know either. I was talking about the jokes and cameos and then realise she didn't get what I meant... so I had to explain!

I had to find out on here! Thanks you guys.
Think I am gonna see it again on Monday and expect my rating to increase now that I have been "let in on the joke".

(Also I had to endure sitting in the VERY front row which at Vue Edinburgh is within touching distance of the screen, so everything was distorted and difficult to see. Not my fault for being late I hasten to add - it usually is!)

Never seen (or heard of) this 80's version that a lot of people are referencing, so just taking it at face value, I thought it was a very funny movie.

Didn't go OTT, didn't rely on gross out, shock tactics humour like a lot of "comedies" I've seen in recent years.

Didn't get my favoured leather deluxe seats at Islington, but it was all good. Nice to see ushers doing something for once. Very enjoyable & I might just recommend it to a few

Watched the 21 Jump Street. It was surprisingly funny and had a very enjoyable evening apart from too much bad language
Good story line, humor and actions.

Really enjoyed this a lot. Thought it was a very funny and entertaining action comedy. Occasionally crude and puerile obviously but with an actual heart between the dick-sucking gags. Throw in a few impressive set pieces including a very funny freeway chase and the final shoot-out and you had a film that was a fun throwback to the kinds of action comedies you used to get around the time the original show was made. Admittedly fans of the original show would probably be disappointed that this was more sly pisstake than straight adaptation but it worked for me (although I believe there is a version of the original theme tune at the end of the end credits for fans).

The chemistry between Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum was fantastic and really the made the film. Though Hill was pretty much being Hill (albeit slimmer), I thought Tatum was genuinely surprising. He managed to get a fair share of the laughs throughout the film and definitely needs to get a few more roles like this. The supporting cast were excellent too. A real who's-who of US TV comedy. For those that want to be surprised when they see it I'll include the best behind a spoiler.
So you had Nick Offerman (Ron Freaking Swanson!!!) from Parks & Rec doing the very amusing in-joke gag about recycling old ideas. Rob Riggle from The Daily Show. Chris Parnell (Dr Spaceman) from 30 Rock, Ellie Kemper from The US Office and Jake M Johnson from New Girl
Also enjoyed Ice Cube's stereotypical shouty police captain. Shame that Johnny Simmons from Scott Pilgrim had such a tiny role though (he was the kid in the video at the beginning). Also spent most of the film wondering why the guy who played Eric seemed so familiar before seeing his name at the end and realising he's James Franco's brother. Also very disappointed that the big star cameo had been spoiled for me beforehand as I would have liked to have been surprised.

It wasn't perfect and not all the jokes worked but I had a great deal of fun with this and I am definitely tempted to catch it again. Though this is mainly so I'm not stuck next to someone again who repeated lines they found amusing, clapped occasionally and doubled-up with laughter in a very distracting fashion. Sure I'm glad he was having a good time but it was incredibly annoying. If that is someone who is on here I apologise. Actually I don't really. It was very annoying.

Anyway I'm now going to spend the rest of the week trying to get the line 'Leave Korean Jesus alone' into any conversations I have.

Saw this in very busy Cineworld in Edinburgh and like most of the folks here despite a bit too much language, really enjoyed it.

Like many others thought the chemistry between Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum made the film and loved the role reversal. Wonder if they will make a sequel or another tv series.

Different car chase scenes too.

Good evening and would recommend this to my younger friends.
