canadian_turtle wrote:I think I must've watched a completely different movie from everyone else here. I loved this to pieces; it was funny (the new additions from OK were hilarious, especially Art "I want to touch them!!"), sweet and very colourful. Heck I even cracked up as soon as Johnny opened his voice as I was trying to find a likeness between Nathan Fillian (the voice actor) and the character as drawn in the movie. I never really loved the first Monsters film (I didn't hate it, but when I saw it on TV I thought it was just okay) and thought this new addition was a vast improvement (though I'll probably enjoy the original more now having seen this one). One of my favourites so far this year. 10/10
Also, I LOVED kiddie!Mike I really want a whole film with him!
Thanks for posting this, I too was underwhelmed by Monsters Inc (it's a 6/10 movie as far as I'm concerned) but as I think that the trailers for Monsters University are actually quite promising you've given me a bit of hope that going to see it on Saturday will turn out to be a positive experience

Maybe it was a matter of me being sleepy on a Sunday morning, or maybe it was the movie itself, but the first thing that comes to mind is that it was just too long. At least it felt too long. There were definitely some genuine laughs, and I did like the characters, but there is a big difference between like and love, and love this I did not, unfortunately.

Saw this at Hafield earlier today, although it wasn't nearly as good as my favourite Pixar movies I still thought this was much better than Monsters Inc.
I agree with others that it could have done with being a little tighter time wise but it still did more than enough to merit a 7/10 from me...

I thoroughly enjoyed this at a packed Trafford Centre as everyone else has said a tad too long but very watchable. Lovely to see all the regular FMUKers and thanks to Yogi for supplying me with coffee much appreciated and to akh43 for the ticket

Quite enjoyable but just not as charming as Monsters Inc. Glad there was a short beforehand to allow all the latecomers the opportunity to look for four seats together!

Yes was very busy - think a few people didn't get seats - that's why i always arrive early.
Hope to meet the FMUKers next time - although not got any tickets for anything in next 2-3 weeks so might be a while.
