Hi anakin

That was me and a girl a couple of seats along from me - I think it was when the fiesty colleague showed the text message from her boyfriend (I am not sure how much I should reveal here!), thought it was funny/ironic/apt in the context of what she had been doing.

Very topical about unemployment, but well filmed. Loved the strong female characters, and of course, George Clooney! Thoroughly enjoyed the film.

Apparently there's a whole plot point in the original source book about Clooney's character having cancer and how that affects his attitude and approach throughout the story, but it seems to have been removed entirely from the film version which is a very interesting choice and I think it certainly would have put the film in a different light...

Well the film does make a slight/very subtle reference to the sub-plot (whether Reitman did it intentionally, or not who knows...). Highlight below if you have seen the film.

Flight Attendant walks up to Bingham.
"Would you like cancer?"
"What?"
"Cancer?"
"Would I like...?"
"Would you like a can [fizzy pop] sir."
"No thank you."

clips show it as a comedy but I thought it was far from that especially the sensitive subject of someone being made redundant.

Dont know what to make of the film one of those I'm not sure if I enjoyed it or not

Jordan - I was aware of that joke, but apparently the joke doesn't appear in the book itself and the director has said in interviews that he just came up with that idea himself as it happened to him and he thought it was funny...

For those of you have Film4, the debut film by the director of Up In The Air (Jason Reitman) called "Thank You for Smoking" is showing this Tuesday at 23:05.

It might be of interest for those who are thinking of seeing "Up In The Air" and would like an idea of how the film might be, or to those who have already seen it and are interested in similar works... Plus, it's a pretty good film anyway! :P

I agree, it is a really good film would recommend it to Juno fans or anyone who has enjoyed Up In The Air.

Big fan of Aaron Eckhart, he's great at playing that slimeball character that you can't help rooting for.

Definitely gonna watch it again, remember it as a smart, funny film.

Thanks for pointing this out. :D

Missed out on going, stupid weather pretty much made it impossible to get to any station, sigh, will catch it at my local on Friday instead.
