They started the interviews in February 2011 and will be interviewing candidates up until March 2012 so I wouldn't worry if you haven't heard anything yet.

I am not really bothered now, as if we are not allowed to watch the games, it defeats one of my purpose of volunteering. Was hoping to catch the games on my breaks etc. But the job may not even be onsite - could be somewhere nowhere near the Olympic Park!

I've just applied for tickets to 6 events, some of em really obscure, early morning and at early stages and I picked the cheapest one's I could find and it still cost £250! Blimey! Luckily I'll be going as my father's carer but imagine if I wasn't that'd be £500! Before we've enven considered train, hotel, travel and eating costs! Rip off Britain for sure. I'm in two minds whether I want my bid to be successful or not.

I know *hangs head in shame* I mentioned it casually to my dad to win good daughter points a while back and did actually register but then forgot until he phoned me at half ten tonight all excited having seen it on today's news and asked me what events I'd applied for....errr nothing! I've been quite fortunate (except for the £250 bit) as I thought the site might be jammed or something. On the other hand the thought of spending 3 days alone with my dad is filling me with dread already.

I applied for various events to the grand total of £980.00. I hope we don't get allocated tickets for all the events! The swimming will do us fine.

Well we applied for a variety of tickets and as we have 4 in the family and applied for lots of 2, we hope whatever we get someone here will want to go. Quite sure that son David will try to go to everything! As we mainly asked for the cheapest tickets they will probably be the most oversubscribed.

Don't know what ticket choices were successful as had to use a credit card (they stipulated VISA only which I think is a nerve) that I can't see online because we never registered for online use. So it will be a shock/surprise when the bill arrives.

Argh I am checking my bank account every morning and still no sign of money being taking away :(

We hear everywhere that people are p***ed off because they got more tickets than they could afford, but I personally don't know anybody that actually got tickets! Do you?
