Well that's the first bike ride of 2014 completed and boy does my backside ache. The ride ended up being 24.5 miles but took over four hours to complete 8O . At my fittest last year I think that would have taken me around two and a half hours, so it would seem that my fitness level has all but disappeared. The last seven miles were absolute torture, I just wanted it to be over and to be back to the car. I've planned another outing for early next week, hopefully the soreness should have worn off by then. Still no pain no gain!

Just updated my tracker thing to find that I've put on 13 lbs since October. I am officially "obese" rather than just plain "overweight" again now and I've got 43 lbs to lose to get to my target weight. There's nothing like setting an ambitious target! 8-)

I was proud of myself at Waitrose on the way home from my ride when I decided that I wouldn't b*y the half price tub of Quality Street after all and returned them from my basket to the shelf. I b*ght some cheap brussell sprouts instead. They have got to be a better bet for weight loss.

I was dead impressed to hear of your 2 stone weight loss Moggers. That is an immense achievement - well done!! I'll be looking to you for tips. Also great to hear that you'll be doing the race for life and assisting with the Commonwealth Games press office too. o/

Been reasonably good today foodwise although I did succumb to a delicious free Waitrose cappuccino which was a tad naughty when I was shopping. Had porridge and blueberries for breakfast though, and had 30 gm of cashew nuts for a bit of a snackette just now. Will be having a massive chicken salad later on after a relaxing soak in the bath.

I've got my fingers crossed for you Rawr re the job - Also, I wanted to say how pleased I was to read that you met someone new after last year's shocking and upsetting news. Hope you have a fab 2014! o/

Wow, well done with the bike ride, Preston - and with the Waitrose-related restraint - not sure I'd have had your powers of resistance! (Is this what is meant by resistance training, then? If so, it sounds every bit as painful as I thought...) It's bound to get easier each time if you're able to keep it up, and you've certainly made a sterling start, and an early one.

Oh wow Preston1990 that is some exercise that you have done today. I'm so so impressed and like myself we have both been living it up the last few months so I'm right beside you on our weight loss journey. We can do this together so please be ruthless with me and say it as it is! I'm just in the normal weight range but literally by the skin of my teeth 8O

I know that you shouldn't get weighed every day but couldn't resist seeing if I'd lost anything after yesterday's exertions on the bike. I Was feeling confident that I would have lost at least a couple of pounds. ;) Needless to say I was exactly the same weight as yesterday morning

Ah well no matter, I need to be more realistic I suppose

Skipped breakfast (another no-no I know) by having a lie in today. Ate an early lunch of chicken salad, though. It was the remnants of what I'd overmade yesterday and clingfilmed in the fridge. Going to make myself a vegetable stir fry to have later. Trying to be good and avoid eating the cakes and chockies that are still floating around the house. :tears:

What's everybody else been up to today?

:D

Well, had a good start yesterday, 1/2 a tin of mango, for breakie and a cup of tea, salad with a couple of slices of garlic sausage & what was left of my mango yoghurt for dinner, OH made a vegetable curry with rice for supper. Have cut down on the alcohol, which is always a winner.

Today, is a bit of a repeat of yesterday as I do not want to waste food. (My main resolution for this year)

Had put on 2kg since his return from Borneo......but he is off to Mexico in a few weeks so will be in charge of cooking again!

Not been good as sort of got up late (was faffing around) as thought it was Saturday hence Belvita for breakfast and lunch as just grabbed and went. DD goes back to university tomorrow and as I'm going for JL coffee and cakes in the morning with fellow FMUKers and then out for dinner with old friends from work in the evening it may be best started fully on Sunday as back to normality then. I can exercise tonight though as doing nothing at all this evening.

Ok, fellow WW FMUKers, it's hands up time for me!

Due to a combination of illness and sheer piggery, I've managed to put on 6lbs over the last few weeks! 8O

Time to get the sensible head back on!

Did 10x2min rounds on the heavybag on 30th Dec, a 5k on 1st Jan and weights on the 2nd. Need to get the momentum going again!

Well you inspired husband and me to use our January vouchers for a coffee and cake at John Lewis today, Diane. He was amazed that it was free! I mentioned that Manchester FMUKers get together monthly for such treats and he said that " Those Manchester folks really know how to live." See, he hasn't met you but he knows you well!

Glad to hear it and you must be psychic as 6 of us Manchester FMUKers had another trip yesterday for our John Lewis coffee and cakes - I'm shocked to say that 2 of them didn't use Decembers vouchers 8O It was lovely to have a catch up - I know it's only been 2 weeks but seems like forever. As your husband says " Those Manchester folks really know how to live."

Welcome back JohnMilton and at least you have got an excuse whereas I haven't been remotely ill just a greedy guts  Well done on the exercise front you are certainly in the zone o/ I'm back on board properly today.

Menu of the day:
Porridge (300 calories)
Ham salad sandwich followed by natural yoghurt and frozen raspberries (350 calories)
Weight Watchers chicken hotpot (226 calories)
Asda low calorie Jelly lots of throughout the day (40 calories)
I will add some more food to make it up to 1200 calories

Not sure re exercise today as I am taking down the decorations and giving the house a thorough cleaning which will take ages as got carried away with the amount of decorations I put up.

What is everyone else up to today? Keep posting everyone and lovely to hear from ejwrank, Moggers, MsThrifty, Biggins, JohnMilton and Baty again as Preston1990 says its just like old times :D
