Rest In Peace Tony Scott. What a terrible thing to happen - my thoughts go out to his family.
Go ahead, make my day - by visiting my blog: http://jacobthehobnob.wordpress.com/

Member number 33 of the "100 free films in 2012" club. I saw 32, which is rather delightful.. I beat Mr. Glass on free films but he narrowly inched me out on total films seen.

Member number 33 of the "100 free films in 2011" club. I saw 20, interestingly enough. My more realistic target was to see more free films than TheyCallMeMrGlass. I lost.

Was just heading to bed when the news came through. Watched Man On Fire this morning, crushed me. One of the key filmmakers of the past few decades who managed to make cinematic action properly. And lots of comedy for good measure too.
The painful part is that he killed himself. Heartbreaking.

I can't believe it. I absolutely loved Tony Scott and his high-octane film-making style.
In my opinion, he was far and away the more talented of the Scott brothers. RIP Tony :`(

What a shock, RIP TOny Scott. I am a fan of his movies. High Concept, high adenaline and zippy direction was the name of his game. A stark contrast to his brother's work. None, not one of them was less than enjoyable and most were brilliant. No idea what drove him to give up, he might have been suffering from depression. He will be at peace now but its a shame he couldnt be saved.

I remember when Top Gun came out, I was totally crazy about that film. (don't Judge me) I remember seeing it every week I could, going to more and more obscure cinemas in London till it was gone.

Such a brilliant talented man, I enjoyed so many of his films, perfect high octane glossy escapism. What must someone be going through to do such a thing, in such a dreadful way :(
preferred locations Shepherds Bush, Westfield, Notting Hill, Central London, Wimbledon, Islington, Wandsworth thanks

He possibly had terminal brain cancer - whatever his reasons it is just so sad.

one of my fav films is Scott's The Last Boy Scout. Hard to believe the guy who made it is gone from the world. I guess he wanted to go this way with his terminal disease, but its very sad all the same.

Shame about Harry Harrison too, he was a character as well as a formative part of my youth with his Stainless Steel Rat series.
fav 5 films of the year - Tenet, Bill n Ted 3, Invisible Man, JoJo Rabbit, ?
