No wonder with all those funerals its such a sad time saying goodbye. It will just be a blip on the food front.

The last couple of weeks have been personally crap so I have over eaten, eaten sweet stuff and ate at night. I haven't gained much weight but I need to have a good talk to myself. Hopefully the work drama is over although I still feel angry about how I was treated by senior management and my co-worker has maybe one more brain cell than an amoeba ( she wouldn't know what that is)

So MONDAY!!! You will be mine!!!

Sorry to hear that you have been treated badly at work and it is hard to come down from the angry stage when it is from colleagues. :bighug:

Sorry to hear you've been having a bad time. Can I just say that eating at night is okay as long as its not complete trash and a massive amount. You body burns fuel all night long - regenerating, brain functions, producing body heat so you don't become hypothermic and probably many other things. One good thing about eating at night is that when you wake in the morning you feel more refreshed, more energetic and I've found it can help fight off mild depression because of the other benefits. Just something to think about :-)

Cheers stone monkey but it isn't good food. I am going to get my head in gear, start trying to exercise again tomorrow with some light weights.

Ah well, if it tasted nice thats good too. I can't help myself on occasion - empire biscuits are my downfall. I'm a bit of a weight watcher but didn't sign up to 'The Programme'. About 15 months ago I smoked up to 40 cigs a day and weighed over 17 1/2 stone and I'm now down to just below 14 1/2 st and been of the cigs for 14 months. I piled on the weight with a medication I was taking which made me hungry and was water retentive also. I changed medication last February and have lost over 2 stone to date and just under 1 stone to go - hopefully by the end of March. I started at the gym in October and as a result of a trying to drop sugar from my diet I've dropped my BMI from 29.9 to 25.9 - still overweight hoping to get to 24.6 which is a healthy level for my height. I even managed my 1st 5k this month doing the Bupa Great Winter Run. Previous to that I hadn't run since my school days in the 80's. Walking is one of the best exercises and is just as good for the body as a trip to the gym - I just want to strengthen my core and build a bit more muscle as I'm shrinking :-) Good luck :-) :-)

Oh I love empire biscuits too lol! Well done on your journey!! I gave up cold turkey 18 months ago and this time last year decided if I could give up smoking I could do anything. 2 stones lighter now but really need to get back to my fitness stuff, I did my first 5k last year in the race for life in Glasgow and going to 'run' this year rather than power walk. Most of us here just do our own thing but we do have some real 'weight watchers' and 'slimmers' who have had success with their programmes too. Welcome aboard, it is a great bunch of folk here.

Good morning everyone! :D

I hope everyone is feeling OK today. Trust that the back and foot problems are subsiding Diane and Baty, or at any rate are no worse :cross:

Sorry to hear about the workplace problems too Moggers. That sort of thing can be so awful, as it can be difficult not to keep on going over and over what has happened in your mind. Best to try and forget about it if you can, but I know that can be easier said than done.

Thanks for the very kind offer of looking in the loft to search out good clarinet tunes from your old school books, Mesa7719. It seems a trifle extreme but if you are sure that you don't mind doing it that would be brilliant thanks. No rush though, still haven't mastered the old Acker Bilk classic yet

It's (very) early days for me and the clarinet but I am making some progress now. Although I did spend two days with the mouthpiece facing the wrong way up  which obviously didn't help.

Have been reasonably good on the food front so I'm hoping for better progress on the old weight loss front this week.

Good luck to everyone else o/

Oh I missed your clarinet adventure Preston! I have a clarinet, needs new reeds and probably a good clean. Should get it out and have a toot, after cleaning of course :)
