How impressive is that and nice to hear your news MrG. I admire the fact that you run 8km to the Leisure Centre when I see local people actually driving to the gym/leisure centre which is virtually round the
corner! Makes a mockery out of keeping fit to my mind. Shall always remember walking out of the cinema with you and you running off towards Piccadilly for the long run home to south London.
And very well done to the rest of you illustrious weight watchers here. Seems in spite of injuries, babysitting duties etc you are all full of good advice and encouragement. Always a good read even if I don't indulge in as much exercise and fitness as the rest of the team.
Aww your encouragement is always Gold. Thanks EJ, it really helps us maintain that drive.
Yeah, I remember I use to (rather embarrassingly) run to the cinema in the earlier days, changing my t shirt in the gents when I arrive but still not a very convincing sweat free appearance and smell! That wasn't really a good idea! So instead I run from cinema to home (as you witnessed) and so can get a good shower, or run to a gym next to the cinema (I have a London wide network access membership to gyms, so I do this more often now) and then watch the film afterwards feeling fresh.
Today, I ended up watching the movie first then went into the gym afterwards. The film I watched was Lone Survivor, a gritty reality based war film....and now I feel very military and I have an urge to get military on someone...aha...
DIANE....So when we all meet up in April, you thinking of covering up with a long coat, huh? I dont think so! That's not the way to think and you know it :) You are going to flaunt the 5 lbs that you will lose in 9 weeks time. That was your special rate you've been doing all the time and you will do it again :) So get down with the veggies and do those exercise...10-15 mins...thats all they take, 10-15mins...maybe sniff along with Nicole?!. The more intense you do them, the shorter your workouts can be. Higher intensity in short bursts loses more body fat than lengthy workouts at lower intensity. So lets see your schedule :) no excuses. As Baty demonstrated, there are always way round obstacles. And you know it because you've been setting that magnificent example for the past few years as Queen of this thread and I'd love to see you continue that example.
Ok was that harsh? I'm blaming it on the blasted military film I saw today but everyone is a good cop here so I might as well do the bad cop routine :) SO everyone, work around your obstacles, illnesses, injuries, workloads, there is always a way around to achieving your desires. It might look hard at first but when you get in groove, you wont want to stop because you will already be feeling the benefits of just a week worth of healthy eating and exercises. You will just feel good about yourself and its the most rewarding feeling than anything else. And for those of you that have children to bring up, heavy workloads...doing exercises actually improves your mindset. It gives you clarity and focus in your work. You feel sharper, more confident in everything you do. And your children benefits from your you feeling good about yourself. I've being through that transition (though not with children, I dont have any of those cute and sometimes annoying critters) and so I really like to see everyone here feel good about themselves, especially when overcoming life's big obstacles.
Tomorrow, I'll do a short abs work but generally have a rest day and eat what I like as my comfort day...in moderation.

As for bananas, yip brilliant unless you have any kidney issues then not so good as potassium and phospherous are bad for kidney function. Poor DH has had to re-think a lot of his diet after a blood test result last week.
Sound like a big step to me

. All the best for your OH to nail his diet.
