Got the race for life in june that I plan to run, so I guess I better get myself sorted :S

So many bad habits have resurfaced!
You and me both and after seeing a rather unflattering picture of myself (once again yogi has captured the moment) at the FMUKcon looking rather happy with myself chatting to Rickyraj (the one where I look exceptionally chubby in my purple top) it is just the wake up call I need.

Menu of the day:
Milkshake with a banana and raspberries.
Brushetta
Pizza and a huge salad for dinner

I have just tried to do the warm up for my exercise DVD and I can't even touch the floor 8O My suppleness has disappeared due to lack of activity so will have to do a walk instead to increase my fitness levels so that I can do it again. I am quite shocked as to how quickly I have become so unfit not the weight issue as I know what I have been doing for that to increase.

Please post recipes then we can inspire each other. That chocolate recipe sounds wonderful along with Preston's creme egg - I have given up chocolate for lent so now getting rather desperate for some especially my Cadbury's buttons egg :D

So, after my first 2 weeks of eating better and actually weighing in so I know if I'm making any progress... 6 lb weight loss! o/

I'm only eating out at restaurants which publish calorie info and I'm eating a lot more salad. Instant way to make any meal less bad for you - cut it in half and bulk up with salad. o/

One of my best friends is also on a diet (albeit a pathetic one, she only needs to lose about a gram, so she's trying to eat healthier rather than consume fewer calories) so it helps we can both make smart restaurant choices together. o/

Thanks, Diane65. o/ I'm sure it will slown down, but it's a really motivating start. :D

I swear, I haven't eaten this much salad in, well, ever. It's such a surprise to find out I actually like it, and going half and half means I don't get bored. I haven't given up treats either - have become a big fan of Pizza Express and Bella Italia because they do little desserts. I always feel cheated without a pudding, but it doesn't seem to matter if it's tiny, it's just about having a little something sweet. o/ You can do the same with those little cakes from Weight Watchers or even Mr Kipling if you're eating in.

It's been such a shock looking at calories honestly and realising which foods are okay, and which are just the devil. I think once I lose some more weight, I'll aim to build in a whole treat day, but I need to stay on the wagon a bit longer first, as I know what my willpower is like. I need to build up some reserves before I go challenging it too much!

Precisely the same reason as me, witnessed the return of my double chin in one of the pictures and after weighing myself im not at all happy.
Guess im not surprised though, the lack of being able to go to the gym regularly cause of work mixed in with the two pervs that are always in attendance when I do manage to go have put me off completely the past month. Ive complained but naturally nothing has been done about it, so wherever they go, I dont go, im not going to let them stop my workout anymore.

Me too. I saw all the pictures, I got the most work to do to get back to my "preaching" state, lol. But you guys are too harsh on yourselves, you all looked great but of course we always have room for improvement no matter what stage we get to. So lets get down with it, together.

I am supposed to run a half marathon on 22nd June so I really need to get cracking as I am not fit for it.

I'll switch my runkeeper app on to show I have done a run today...will run to central, then gym and watch a movie.

Just looking at my history of runs...pathetic, last one recorded 3 weeks ago.

http://runkeeper.com/user/RunTejRun/profile

Target, it must show at least 4 runs per week. Need pressure!

Anyone with a running app care to join together as a sub group motivation?

Do you have a VR headset? If so, maybe we can play a physical sports game or even be sports/fitness partners, hit me up if you keen.

I use runkeeper too, but for walking. I'm trying to track all "non-commuting" walking, so I won't count walking to and from my home station or work station, but if I trek to see a show or go for a walk around the block, on goes runkeeper.

Maybe when my fitness improves I'll consider running (maybe!) but won't I have to get proper shoes etc? Wouldn't have a clue where to start. All the serious runners I know are always complaining about being injured, so there must be a right way and wrong way of running. I'll also need clothes... I don't own anything sports-appropriate!

MrGlass, you're going to have to point me in the direction of a running shop that can sort me out without laughing!

Loving the sentiments and all the good intentions being expressed by everyone on this thread at the moment. o/

I'm starting my own healthy(ier) food eating mission from today. :D

For lunch I will be attempting oven baked rainbow trout. I will be serving it with sugar snap peas, baby sweetcorn and thai fragrant rice drizzled (nay enrobed :shifty: ) with just the merest smidge of mushroom based light soy sauce to give it a bit of zing.

Calorific value? .......No idea!! .....But got to be less than what I've been eating of late.

OK..... the kitchen beckons! :D

That sounds super healthy. Fish is really low-calorie. o/

But as you said, as long as you're eating better than you have been lately, it's a step in the right direction. Today I'm going to throw away the collection of takeaway menus.
