Baty you too have a lot of stamina and I have always had a lot of energy. Which Spark people youtube video did you do?

Well what can I say but I am ashamed to say that I have just got on the scales and I am once again officially overweight 8O  :tears: I hadn't been on the scales for a few weeks but thought I knew what I weighed but it is worse than I imagined :noo: Now the excess weight equivalent of 3 cats.
Just tried on my new navy dress ready for the summer (last of my birthday vouchers) http://clothing.boden.co.uk/search?p=R& ... &view=list and it goes in at the waist but is spoiled by my spare tyre which appears underneath it plus my heavy chest - if you watch the model without the excess weight it looks so flattering. I am keeping it as I am determined I will be without the tyre this summer :cross:

As my back is still aching (don't mean an injury just overuse) I will go for another walk today and will do my DVD tomorrow.

Just had a banana sandwich on granary bread with a glass of milk followed by a black coffee (400 calories)
Fragrant Thai carrot soup and a slice of granary bread for lunch followed by 2 plums (310 calories)
Hot chicken salad dressed with balsamic vinegar and a mango yoghurt (400 calories)

Now that you know you're over the line, you can do something to get back under it. See it as a good thing, Diane65, if you hadn't weighed yourself today, you might have kept on creeping up, but now you are going to do something about it! o/

Your menu today sounds delicious. I do love bread but can't keep it in the house because I'll devour a whole loaf otherwise. Some friends may come into town today, but given how gloomy it looks, maybe not. So I think today's menu will be something like the below:

Breakfast - fresh strawberries (35 calories)
Lunch - cereal (175 calories)
Dinner - 1/2 pizza with dressed salad and apple juice (540 calories) and café gourmand (215 calories)
Snacks - the rest of the strawberries (35 calories)

That dress looks lovely - which reminds me, I need to b*y one for the wedding. It's a shame everywhere is shut today, I could have done with the walk to the shops. Online window shopping it is!

PS I'm very jealous of your holiday in France, baty. It's so long since I was there last.
Preferred cinemas:
Vue West End, Cineworld Haymarket, Odeon West End, Odeon Leicester Square, Empire Leicester Square, Cineworld O2, Cineworld Shaftesbury Avenue and Odeon Panton Street, followed by anywhere in central(ish) London.

Asamaic is quite right Diane, you'll soon shed those few excess pounds and that lovely dress will look stunning on you when you get back down to your fighting weight.

I'm loving that you are talking about the excess weight in terms of cat units. I've calculated that I have 5 cats to shift, so your 3 should be a piece of cake (which can be your reward!)

Great to hear all the determination to make a go of this healthy eating and exercise thing once again - I know that I've been in the doldrums with it for too long now but feel enthused again hearing you others planning for future events etc.

Great to see the return of the daily menu plans too - now I know you mean business! :D

Enjoy Easter everyone, reward yourselves moderately :)

Preston you looked fitter than me, when I saw you couple weeks back!

Diane, agree with asamaic, its a big positive step knowing where you at and not in denial which I often tend to be! Besides, you still looked like a super model to me when I last saw you too the other day. Dont agravate your back and enjoy your walk :)

Baty, when you are limited with exercise due to your leg injury, try split your meals into smaller potions 4 or 5 times in the day, this way you dont develop cravings and make extra effort to eat healthy options.

Asamaic, you got excellent diet control there...do include more variety of vegetables in your menu, that would be cool :) Its important to cover all the vitamins and minerals for a healthier body that will protect you from all sorts of illnesses. Vegetables are our magic shield, they have no calories yet give us all the nutrition we need. Even though Fruits also have nutirional elements, they also have a lot of sugar.

I had a league squash game yesterday, have to climb back up the ranks as I had fallen...mentally I was exhausted after reaching division 1 a few months ago and then I let things slide so much. So Im in a reset and have a lot of body fat to lose but I worked hard since last couple of weeks. Running regularly again too, I have to admit I'm not in half marathon shape which is in 6-7 weeks but I am working hard at it. Taking a rest today and enjoy Easter indoors :)

Happy Easter all, keep up the great vibes and encouragement everyone on here

Asamaic I have found a new food to help with my diet Suchi ginger, the pink stuff. It has made such a difference to my rice an left over salads. I love the tart taste. MRG I think it would help with smaller snack type meals.

Diane, I think MrG put a list on here for me to try but generally I went for the warmup stretches and the chair exercises, they are good and I can do them sitting or standing. Unfortunately, I am not having much success at regaining my previous toned self, (in my dreams).

Preston, how did you get a picture in the post? Would like to share some of the building we have done.
so today
cup of tea and yogurt
egg fried rice with peas & mushrooms and sushi ginger
chicken in blackbean sauce & pak choi......OH cooking everything from scratch..

hopefully I would have got my 5 or even 7 fruit veg today.
Hope everyone has a good day

Wow - I'd love to see those pictures, baty!

To be honest even though it's easy, every time I post a picture it ends up being a lengthy trial and error exercise. But I'll have a go at explaining.

Pictures that you find on the net are easier to post - you just copy its url thing and put it between the"" or maybe the "" things from the top of the editing screen or you can just type them out yourself.

Putting pictures up that you have taken yourself is slightly more complicated, in that (I believe) you need to have them hosted somewhere on the net first before you link to them in your post. In reality it is quite simple. I upload my photos to an account that I set up on http://photobucket.com/, then link them to my posts from there. I believe that there is a limit to the image size that can be posted to the FMUK site so sometimes it gives you a message to say that it is necessary to edit the image size before linking it.

Sorry my instructions are a bit wooly but literally every time I do it, it's all a bit trial and error, more due to my appalling memory rather than it being an overly difficult task.

More than happy to try and assist further if you struggle though. You could always email your pics direct to me (pm me for my email address) and I'd have a go at putting them up for you. :D

Loving your menu baty and very jealous of you no doubt eating it outside in the glorious French weather. o/

Baty, regards to putting up your own pictures, I use tinypic.com. Its very straight forward and can resize the image appropriate to forum boards, it will then give you a forum formatted code which you simply copy and paste into your post. You dont have to register but I suggest you do it, so that you can access/control your pics under your personal account.

Well done with following those seated exercises and split meal snacks :)

Just love the picture Preston especially as the 2 to the left resemble my 2. It was weighing them for the flea stuff that made me realise how much weight I need to shift 8O

I did reward myself MrGlass with a John Lewis black coffee and cake today - as I didn't want it as my treat day I classed it as my lunch  I can just imagine Baty enjoying the French sunshine :D

Just about to do a tad more gardening as have some top soil to put on but remind me to park closer when I'm carrying 35 litres of topsoil across a carpark

Thanks for the encouragement Preston. Nice picture of your cats!

Was planning to lose 1 kg this week but ate out instead. Haven't done particularly well during bank holiday weekend.

I saw you're new gardening thread with Ms Thrifty...you might get some calorie burning with that methinks :) BUT watch your postures in gardening, I see some bad form of back crouching with gardeners. Often its unavoidable depending on what kind of tools you use. I think having long forks to knead compost etc from an upright position helps. Its important to always engage your core and keep a straigth back as much as possible, bend the knees, pivot by the hips but try not curve the back.

Also, dont be caught in a repetitive position for too long. Take breaks, keep stretching out at regular intervals and down wait for it to hurt, the whole point is avoiding it hurting in the first place.

And uh enjoy your gardening :)
