Hi folks,

I hope I find you all well :D

I've now down to 13 st 6 lbs and a little bit :D So, my target should be attainable. i think I just need to side step the cakes - a major issue.

I did my second 1/2 marathon yesterday. it was in Braemar which is situated in the Cairngorm Mountains. I was slow in comparison to everyone else but beat my 1st time by approx 15 minutes. Yesterdays time was 2hr4mins36secs :D my last 1/2 marathons time was 2hr19mins10secs. Some of the words from flashdance are reverberating around my head :D I have the Dumfries 1/2 marathon next week. It would be nice to hit the 2hrs mark - but finishing is also nice :D

I followed up with 10k in the gym earlier. i have 3 more runs planned this week, 15, 10 and 5k distances then 2 days of before Dumfries :D

Asamaic - your talk of an Indian Head Massage. Check out 'Headonistics' - they are based in London and do an annual pilgrimage to the Edinburgh Festival each year. Thats how I know them. They are highly rated and if nearby for you (maybe maybe not) - definitely worth checking out. They are well established, 10+ years by my calculations as I have known the owner for 8 years who is a friend of my brother.

Well bye for now peeps.

Take care all :D o/ :D o/ :D o/ :D o/ :D

Hi folks,

It's looking kinda quiet here.

Well this week my weight has increased. i recon it's due to my lack of exercise in between two half marathons. So, hey ho maybe by the end of this week I'll actually get back to where i was on 15th September :cross:

i did complete my half marathon at the weekend. The Dumfries Half - i did it in 2hr13min14secs - I'm happy with that as the course and heat were gruelling. I felt like I was going to die at 12 1/2 miles but managed to drag myself across the finish line :D

My next event is in two weeks so I'll see how it goes and let you know how I got on :D

My main aim for the next fortnight is losing two or three pounds. My weight as of this moment is 88kg or 13 stone 12 pounds - wow, that's 6 pounds up :tears: - it is of course after a full day of eating also. I usually weight in at breakfast time now i have my new fandangled scales :D

I hope whoever reads this is having a good, positive week and takes care o/

Bye for now :D :D

Well, I did my second race today. o/

I normally run in the city at night, and run to theatre venues, so even though it was a bit weird running on a circuit which wasn't closed off to the public, they were my ideal conditions. Running in the evening past confused tourists and commuters, running past The Scoop, The Rose and the Caravan - ooh, and I got a shiny medal too. (Everyone got a shiny medal, but that's not the point. :P)

Didn't train for this one so was pleased with (and surprised by) my time.

12 1/2 miles? I felt like I was going to die after about 1 mile, stone_monkey. :P Funnily enough, Run the River felt more competitive than the JP Morgan Chase, everyone keep elbowing past!

My weight shockingly dropped after Sunday's cheese blow out with my bad influence friend. I swear I ate my own bodyweight in cheese and yet the scales moved downwards. Possibly they'll go back up tomorrow, but I'm not really trying to lose weight at the moment, just maintain. Finally happy with where I am, weight wise. :D

Whatever you're all doing, hope you're being good, or at least enjoying the calories! o/ o/

Slightly depressing for me - I've mostly been extremely good this last week (apart from a slice of red velvet cake which was then followed by about 3 hours of walking around portsmouth) and yet I've gained half a pound. Not fair but I'm going to keep on going and I guess I'll just have to be twice as strict on my food intake if this keeps happening to me.

Well, still off work and exercise remains problematic. My weight seems to be going in the wrong direction, all my own fault I know!

Stone-monkey and asamaic, you are both such an inspiration.

I shall going back to portion control. Winter is coming and I just feel like eating and hibernating!

I'm with you Baty but I don't have any excuse. I feel much healthier when I weigh less and exercise so it's just stupid that I'm not doing anything about it.

The Spa day was wonderful and really enjoyed the hot stone massage which did was wonderful and the mud rasul made my skin silky soft. You actually applied 3 types of mud to the different parts of your body then you went into a second room where you sat on what looked like a throne which was heated followed by the room heating up as a steam room melting the mud which you massage in and just as you feel like you can't take the heat beautiful warm showers come on. The weather was so good we even sat out in the sunshine. If anyone has a stressful life this is the place to go.

Asamaic and Stone monkey you are both amazing and inspirational. Distorthecode you are doing brilliant and try not to be disheartened as it could be just fluid.

I went to a wedding last week and naturally ate all of the food, and this week has been packed with various leaving dos, so I've had far more alcohol than I usually would. Have had to be careful on the non party days, and overall, I'm winning. It's all about balance - some people asked if the diet was over, to which I replied just because I'm trying to maintain my weight doesn't mean I can't celebrate with folk! I just have to then reign it in a bit more on the other days.

There are ups and downs for everyone on this weight loss journey, and given how quiet a lot of you are being, I hope you're not currently on one of those downs. But if you are, they are only temporary, providing we make an effort to pick ourselves up again.

Do check in and let us know how you're getting on, good or bad. o/

PS I am still recommending MyFitnessPal to those of you struggling with portion control. Using a free app to log what you eat is a real eye opener!

I know what you mean Diane. I have had to b*y a size larger jeans, not my best moment.
Have reduced my alcohol, which has given me a confidence boost and am trying the portion control, again. I know it's the portion that is my problem.

Anyway, I am climbing back on that wagon. I know it makes sense

Hi all,

Reporting in and going for another week of weight gain  I now sit at 90kg or 14 st 2 lbs :tears:

So don't feel too bad baty - I'm joining you :D

I am hoping my weight gain is mostly due to the changes in my medication. I'm trying to reduce the level of tiredness it causes and hopefully shortly I'll be able to do everything I need to on the same dose. At present I cut my dose in half the day before any running event so I can actually run :D

I did do my 4th 1/2 marathon this weekend - The Great Scottish Run in 2hrs 5mins 37secs. I felt good at the end with energy to spare unlike my last 1/2 which almost gave me heart failure. I have 20 ish days and I'll be doing my 1st marathon :D I feel positive about it now after such a good run at the weekend :D :D

Tonight I experimented with my own vegetable curry. it was a complete success. my friend Jenny and i demolished a pan full between us. She agreed that it was tasty. She only wished it was slightly milder which I could do with the aid of a tin of coconut milk to cool the spices. For me it was just right. It was pretty healthy as well because the only processed thing was a small tin of tomatoes I added (if you don't count the herbs and spices). If anyone is interested I could give you the recipe as it's lush o/ :D o/ :D o/

Apologies for that. I wasn't bragging, I am just pleased as punch about my success with the dish :D

Well, I have two weeks of hard training ahead then one week of light exercise on a sliding scale from light to very light. Then my marathon :D I hope to be back down to 85kg/86kg in two weeks. So, all cakes are going and hard exercise will be done :D

So, I shall keep you all updated on my progress :D

I have been seeing loadsa films recently. A few freebies but mostly on my cineworld pass :D

I hope everyone else is doing well or at least feeling well to do something about doing well if you know what I mean o/

Take care everybody :D :D keep safe :D :D
