Well done, Diane65! Great loss.

I thought today was a disaster after the English fry up. However, when I added up what I'd actually eaten (offloaded most of it onto someone else's plate!) I was able to stay on track by having a small bowl of cereal for dinner.

Really need to pick up some batteries for my scales so I can see what's been happening to my weight!

Thanks so much for the encouragement o/ Don't be too hard on yourself Preston1990 you'll do well this week. I totally understand re not wanting to waste the cake or food in general. I hate having to put food in the green bin - it rarely happens.

Asamaic a fry up is always nice. Ejwrank that made me smile re your idea to control your eating. I have been putting lots of foot cream on in bed and wrapping my feet in a towel as I know there is no way I will be walking on my new cream carpet with tons of cream on my feet so have to stay put.

I nearly forgot to say the January Asda magazine has got loads of healthy recipes in it. I have just made the triple berry compote ready for my porridge in the morning and it tastes delicious and so easy to make; I used frozen raspberries, the blackberries I picked in autumn and had froze and fresh blueberries you just heat them with water, sugar and a cinnamon stick and now have 3 portions in the fridge for 2 days of porridge and 1 portion to go into the remaining natural yoghurt (I cut the quantities as only keeps for 3 days). I will be making the potato scones from the magazine for breakfast on Saturday.

The triple berry compote you've made to have with your porridge sounds lovely Diane. Reading about it reminds me of the blackberry picking I did when I was out cycling last summer (or was it the previous one even?). :D

I'm heavily into soup making mode at the moment. As you know, I started with Leek and Potato the other day, followed by mushroom yesterday. Today's effort has been broccoli and spinach. Sounds a bit naff I know, but it was actually surprisingly nice. A great way to use up stuff (i.e. the rather sad looking spinach) rather than throwing it away. So not only healthy, but good value too. Have frozen some of each kind in portion(ish) sized microwaveable containers. So should be a breeze to flash up as and when required. o/

I've now curbed my carb intake - I was eating too much bread by way of toast (with olive oil - a big weakness of mine 8O ) and sandwiches. It's becoming a little easier to get back on track after my last weeks fiasco.

I'm happy to report that there are now only 1 and a half slices remaining of the 4 slices of Morrisons chocolate fudge gateaux in the Preston1990 household. I only ate another 1/2 slice, so if I can just ignore that particular "Food of the Devil" for another couple of days, it would seem that the problem will disappear of its own accord.

I'm filling up with copious quantities of earl grey tea at the moment to keep my hydration up and hopefully my snacking at bay. Have also stolen Diane's 300 (ish) calorie omelette/frittata idea. Two eggs and various fillings (tomato, red onion, spring onion, mushroom, peppers, pepperoni, etc etc). Fresh, quick, tasty and so easy even a bloke can do it! ;)

Hoping to dust off the exercise bike and rowing machine this coming week and start some gentle exercises each day if the back holds up. My MRI scan app't has finally come through for Tuesday of next week. o/

Hope everyone else is continuing to be good and managing to avoid temptation. :D

Well done Preston1990 with all the soup making, I also love the frittata idea o/ . This cooking becomes suprisingly addictive and not throwing anything away is amazing. I made some potato scones this morning (using up the last of the King Edward potatoes that I had in from Christmas before they start sprouting) and had it with a poached egg for breakfast - with a bit if spinach it would have been perfect but I have a couple left so now that I've got my spinach it will be tomorrow's dinner. Having chicken and mango curry tonight with wholemeal rice along with the raita followed by yoghurt and the compote. Still deciding how to make my curry as I want it fresh tasting and not mega hot/ I do hot curries but with the mango I fancy it more clean if that makes sense.

Good luck with the MRI scan Preston1990 o/

Here's another who has lost two pounds - a step in the right direction, at any rate. I am looking through all my recipe books for inspiration. There are so many delicious recipes in my Weightwatcher books. However, we still have Christmas cake and such like to finish off. I do not waste food, and will not throw it out, so it has to be eaten before serious dieting comes into play.

This morning, I went to the gym and burned off 680 calories. I'm on a mission now.

Can anyone recommend a dance-type exercise DVD? I fancy a change from my aerobics DVDs.

Hubby has lost six kilos in last two months. He has a personal trainer. This guy charges him for all the advice I've been giving him for free for the last 7 years. :wall:

The new scales arrived so finally I can keep track of my progress. o/

Have lost 4.8lb since Boxing Day. Felt less 'bleuuurgh' so I knew I had come down a little - nice to have it confirmed, and at a healthy rate too. o/

Been eating out a lot at lunchtimes, but having only a small snack for dinner to balance out my calorie intake. Am logging everything again, and it's really helping. Sometimes I think about eating something bad, log it, realise how much it would push me over, then delete it and don't eat it!

My ankle is still giving me grief - thinking of cancelling my gym membership. I don't think there is anything I can do there without putting pressure on my ankle - I feel like it's going to be at least a month until I can run again, so it's going to be a long recovery. :(

Hope everyone else is being good!

You should invoice your hubby retrospectively for all those years of good advice, Sunny Saver ;)

Good luck for this week's weigh day Diane :cross: - If I don't lose something this week, I'm just going to fib!
