May be guest list.

It's the same code that was posted before :p
Well, I couldn't get tickets before... So I must have just been added to the guest list. Didn't realise these invites came in batches...

Either way, a win for me! o/

Quite often they come in batches, always worth trying periodically.
Preferred Cinema's now Paignton or Exeter!

I didn't realise that either! It just strengthens the argument for posting the codes though. If you are added and don't get the email you will never know. But if it's something you really want there is nothing to stop you trying the code.

They're not free screenings as people need to be a member and not everyone who subscribes to email alerts for the free theatre codes thread is. Posting it elsewhere (such as the discussion thread right here) is fine of course.
I completely agree with that as well. I thought it at the time along with the thought that potentially that could take over the whole thread. It makes it difficult for those who are busy to respond to the alerts if there are too many and therefore miss genuine opportunities.
I actually made that posting. I did it for good reason. The Eddie Izzard gig seemed a bit special even for the Audience Club (who opened it up to all membership levels). And the email alerts here are immediate; whereas the Audience Club are daily. So members here who are also Audience Club members, would have benefited from the 'heads up'. This is the whole point of this Board. I get alerts which I am not interested in all the time. But I appreciate the service and the thought given by other members - including SFF guest list offers (gives a heads up that something might come down the line) - to what I might be interested in. I say keep the alerts coming.

The difference is that the Audience Club postings go against the rule of it being information regarding FREE theatre/concerts. The Audience Club has both a membership fee and booking fees (how nominal they may be) and should not be posted in the FREE theatre codes thread sending out alerts to a lot of people who are not even members just to reach a handful who may be a member.

Ok, as for the notification that something is invited guest list only, I don't want a separate post for that in the ticket thread anymore. It can be mentioned in this Discussion Thread and then maybe someone can edit it into the alert post - but I don't really see the harm in trying your accounts to see whether you can get tickets or not anyway - I wouldn't want anyone kept from trying just because they think it's for VIP only and they can't get tickets. So please keep posting codes and don't apologize for it.

As for the Audience Club, I see both sides of the argument, and I must say I am rather relaxed about it as long as it doesn't happen for everything that the Audience Club offers and is for special things only. Otherwise, if one is not sure, one can always post in the Discussion thread instead. We must take care that we don't get too anal when people are trying to help and posting information about events.

I take your point and realise that you were trying to be helpful. However the point of that particular thread on the board is as c_t has stated for free theatre and that isn't. It would be perfectly welcome in this discussion thread.

The other thing is that what is special is very subjective. In my experience it's not that unusual to get free tickets when major comedians are making a DVD (or TV) recording. Personally I am more impressed with the We Will Rock You last week or the Gorky at The National at the moment. Both of those are unusual, but the nature of the beast is that odd things come up unexpectedly.
