Hi everyone, been a while since I've posted in here and thanks to some rather fun Christmas based choices my weight is extremely unchanged.

I'm back on the wagon though but I'm definitely finding the dieting part harder, largely because my fiance has been told by his doctor that he has to have a low acid diet on top of him already not having a great reaction to wheat (at least in bread/wraps, etc), now as a low acid diet is largely full of the good stuff anyway I'm fine with joining him on it but it is very difficult finding a balance in the foods we're having to make sure that there is some variety and that he's able to have a much of the food he does like as possible.

On a positive note though my water intake is steadily high and I'm making sure I have more than enough fluids in my body every day as that's a part of getting fit that I always seem to let down so I'm making as a big an effort as possible to change that around.

Very pleased to see the recent resurgence in contributions to the thread. I'm sure this dieting thing gets easier when we have fellow participants and encouraging onlookers to get some synergy going.

I started mine on 27 December, & have lost 7lbs since then.
Wow that's fantastic ClareBarr, what a great start to the year! o/

Haha, Yes Raj, my John Lewis vouchers never appeared either. Probably because I never b*ght anything in the shop just got the free drink and cake. However, every black cloud has a silver lining. ;)
baty wrote:Maybe getting the Jamie Oliver 15 mins cook book for the OH was a not so good idea? He has produced some stunning meals. Portion control is my only option
Lovely to see you back on these pages Baty. I also need to watch my portion control - that and stopping finishing off my families leftovers. ;)

Given all the instances of overindulgence I've had recently, I'm happy and relieved to report a 1 pound loss this week. Not a vast amount I know, but at least I'm going the right way now. I must try harder over the coming 7 days. :D

Another news years resolution will be to try to post on here more often....as my dieting has failed in the past & I've gained weight again, I tend to feel guilty & not post! But am determined to keep going with it this year :)

I haven't been posting because I've been absolutely exhausted from work. I've seen hardly any theatre this month, it's all been unpaid overtime and eating out shamefully often due to being too damn tired to cook and also wanting to at least catch up with friends if I can't do owt else. However... I haven't been bad. Really. Like a friend of mine says, it's all about "mindfulness". I've been eating out, but I've been mindful about not eating too much and/or too much of the wrong stuff, and my weight has been remarkably stable.

Still not up to exercise, that ankle is still giving me grief, but I am trying to walk as much as it will tolerate and gradually build up some strength there. Deeply frustrated that I still can't run, but I have to be patient.

Have (re)lost 6.4 lb since Christmas, so I'm getting close to half a stone since I decided to make an effort to reign it in. I want to lose another 5 lb at least, which sounds a lot less daunting now the target is in single figures. :)

Congratulations to everyone who's reported a weight loss recently, and welcome back to everyone who's wandered back over here. :)

Ha ha ha, I just read something in today's papers which I felt I had to share with you:

"We all feel good when we shed a few pounds - but a little known side-effect is that we can lose friends at the same time.

A study of weight loss groups found members are very supportive of each other at the start. However, as they become thinner they get more competitive and chilly towards their fellow slimmers.

Instead of passing each other diet tips and meal plans, they start to keep their secrets to themselves at weekly weigh-ins."
:shifty:

I can't think of a better reason to share my today's meal plan with you all

Breakfast - Porridge 40gm with semi skimmed milk.
Lunch - Chicken and vegetable stir fry with drizzle of soy sauce.
Dinner - Tuna steak with noodles and broccoli.
Supper - 2 slices of toast with scraping of smoked salmon pate.

Throughout the day, copious amounts of Earl grey tea (no milk).

Preston's diet tip  - keep hunger at bay for longer by drinking plain calorie free tap water. ;)

Keep posting everyone - (or we'll know the reason why) 8O :D

Vaugely looking forward for my first weigh in in about two weeks tonight I've been really good at not eating large portions or having sweets (well, apart from a dime bar last night when they were handing them out free at my train station). My last weight in saw me back to almost my heaviest weight so I'm really truly hoping for a nice change, I don't even care if it's only one lb, as long as it's a positive change it's fine by me.

But my drawer at work is so full of herbal & fruit teas I can barely close it so I use these to help me keep my hunger at least slightly tamed. Earl Grey is my favourite though Preston1990, and supposedly has weight loss aiding properties, nice thought but I think I'll probably put more faith towards Green Tea on that one.

I too am a fan of the herb teas. Will try to drink more of them, & less tea (am having a tiny bit of sugar in my tea now so have cut down on that, too).

My weekly weigh in day today-have lost 3 more pounds:)

Began diet 27 December
10 lbs lost
38 lbs to go (ideally by the end of 2015.....)
