Oh, Diane65. I'm so sorry to hear about Rosie. :bighug: Losing a pet is horrendous, take care of yourself and try to slow down for a bit if you can.

My weight has been creeping a little, but I've had quite a few celebration meals myself, so I'm not beating myself up about it. It's only temporary.

Went for my first run post injury! o/ I genuinely don't know how, but my gentle test run turned into a PB for speed and distance. Bet I can't move tomorrow...

Have to be really careful with uneven terrain, my bad ankle hates it, but apart from that, all went ok. I'm feeling really positive now, as baty will I'm sure back me up with, as horrible as exercise is, it feels even worse when you physically can't do any.

Baty, I'm glad you've found something you can do now, that hydro pool sounds just the ticket. o/

Stone_monkey, well done for recognising you were sliding and actually doing something about it! You sound really motivated, hope you keep this up. I'm hoping to start again at the gym soon too - if I can run 6k, I can totally use the (far lower impact!) machines again. We've just got to keep plodding until we get our stamina up again...

Everyone else, where are you hiding? :p

Sorry to hear that you're still having problems with your ankle - injuries are such a nightmare apart from the pain you can't do much.

Thanks everyone for your kind words about Rosie - she was just beautiful. I am going to try and get back on track tomorrow as no meals out this week and only working 40 hours so will have plenty of time to prepare food and exercise before I visit OH. I'm getting on my own nerves now not being focused. Good luck to everyone else o/

Hi everyone!

Apologies, I haven't really been on the thread for a few weeks now due to feeling a bit under the weather of late.

I'm so sorry to hear about Rosie, Diane. :bighug: You certainly are having a tough time, so make sure you take good care of yourself.

Asamaic, great to hear that you are back running again. o/ Cut yourself some slack though and don't you go overdoing it straight away. :nono: ;)

Stone Monkey, sounds like you've had a bit of a sticky time recently, but it's great to hear that you are back in the zone again with your gym work and impressive weight loss.

Baty, your "sea otter" sessions sound like fun o/

My last three weigh days have been lackluster to say the least:

week 1 - put on one pound
week 2 - lost one pound
week 3 (today) - no loss/gain

No surprises there though as I haven't really been dieting or exercising to be honest.

I now have the services of a physiotherapist. He has designed an exercise program to, hopefully, relieve my lower back, disc degeneration, pain without the need for surgery. :cross:

He has told me to do the exercises twice a day and combine these with two 15 minute exercise bike sessions. I'm hoping that they will work to increase mobility and reduce the pain. I'm also hopeful that this will lead to some weight loss too. :cross:

Try and be good everyone - right off on the exercise bike now for the first  15 mins of the day.

Good luck with whatever you're doing WWs :D

hope everyone is doing as best they can ..... I know I fall behind my aspirations at times but as the song goes 'I get knocked down but I get again'

Be careful with that ankle Asamaic.

Well, I still love my hydo pool sessions but I must haul back on the exercises they had me do. Had tremedious pain in the evening from the foot. Only 20-30 mins in the water but worth it.

I got put on new pain meds, they wipe me out in the afternoon so I try to get things done early on or in the evening. Amongst the side effects.....weightloss, proberly through sleeping through meal times!!
Down 1kg in 2 weeks - I cannot drink alcohol on the meds, which probably took out quite a few calories. good luck everyone keep it up

Well done on your weight loss Baty and sorry to hear that your meds are knocking you out.
Gosh Preston 1990 you are certainly going through it health wise this year. Thanks for being so lovely about Rosie. I'm usually quite resilient with whatever life throws at me but a wreck when it comes to animals.

This year has got to get better for all of us so these trackers can get moving in the right direction. I'm now off work until Monday and have got a stupid virus which is so irritating :wall: I'm still going to crack on and do my decorating as planned but wanted to go for walks in between coats keep on coughing if I walk too fast. Have a fun day everyone o/

Hope everyone is having a good week.
I managed to drop another kilo  I have to go back to the pain clinic this week to evaluate the medication - not so good on the pain or the ability to stay awake in the afternoon but loving the weight loss!

I have been awarded pip and am awaiting my blue badge, I can then park near to the local beaches and 'walk' carefully along the prom. Usually the spaces are taken up and only the disabled spaces are free...... that's going to be me, sorted for exercise. I need somewhere flat and the prom would be perfect.

Be careful with wet floors and dodgy surfaces everyone.

Well done Baty on your weight loss that is just brilliant plus being awarded pips will make life a lot easier.
I will get back on board as life should get a bit more normality very soon.

Good luck to everyone else.

Well I have had a real wake up call. I was off work on Thursday and went for afternoon tea at Manchester Town Hall with my friend and she took a photo and Omg how many chins have I got!!! 8O
Mortified at how I look and even though I know that I have put all my weight back on but seeing it in a photo was hideous. I have had a challenging year but I have just got to get on with it as things are more settled now so day 2 of healthy eating. We need to waken up this thread. Have a good weekend. .

Congratulations on your weight loss, baty! o/ Funnily enough, I always seem to lose weight when I drink more - I barely drink, so we're talking a small glass of wine - I suspect it's the dehydration rather than a real loss. Or maybe it's because knowing I'm drinking extra calories makes me try really hard to be good with the food that I'm eating with it.

I can relate Diane65 - bad photos are so depressing. I always hide from the camera, and choose to believe how I look in real life is me from my best angle, not me how I actually look. :p Delusion is the key to happiness...

I've just cancelled my gym membership (well, attempted to, we'll see what actually happens...) because I'm just not using it. I stopped because I was too busy, and then I was too ill, and then I was too injured... But it's not all doom and gloom because I intend to replace the lack of gym activity with running. It's free and I can do it at a time that suits me, so I think that's an improvement. I wouldn't have had the confidence to go running if not first for the improvement in my general fitness from going to the gym so often, but now that I can and do run, I don't think I need the gym anymore. (Famous last words...)

I haven't got a Fitbit John Milton, but I am seriously tempted. I had a look at the one which isn't a Fitbit - Jawbone, that's it - and it's not actually that much prettier despite costing a lot more. Because you have to wear it all day long the aesthetics are important for me - I have a client facing job! A good friend of mine does have a Fitbit and he loves it. One of the reasons why I'm tempted... I already measure most of my walking through Runkeeper on my smartphone, but I'm curious as to how many calories I burn from all the tramping around the Underground and without phone signal and GPS, my smartphone stops being so smart.

Had a bad day recently so ordered my favourite takeaway and gained half a stone overnight. Only temporary water weight and it's gone now, but one of the things I've learned over the past year is comfort eating salty processed food does create temporary weight which makes you feel like crap afterwards, so you can't do it too often. I went out for dinner the other night and we only had one course each, which I didn't even finish as it was massive - sometimes you don't have to eat the entire menu. Can't believe how many decades it's taken for me to realise that. ;) I keep slipping up, but on the whole, I think I've made some real improvements in my attitude towards food.

Not feeling up to a run this weekend (have a bit of a cold), but am going to wrap up warm and get lots of walking in instead. A Fitbit would obviously be more accurate, but because I try to log what I eat and what I burn, I know just a bit of extra walking makes all the difference for me. If you don't keep track of calories in versus calories out, I really do recommend you give it a go because it will make you change your habits in ways that surprise you. For me, getting off one stop earlier and walking a bit further uphill can sometimes be all it needs to push me from overeating for a day into eating a sensible number of calories for that day, and I wouldn't bother to do this if I couldn't see how the numbers for this actually work.

Stay healthy everyone - doesn't just go for eating, but with these awful lurgies floating around, take care of yourselves! o/ o/
