Off to bed shortly as got a stonking headache but I know that it is just my body getting rid of rubbish and possibly withdrawal of caffeine as I drink way too much black coffee but had loads of water instead today. Tomorrow is my treat day but will eat healthily until the evening.

Thanks for the compliment, Matey!Diane65 wrote:Loving your menu Preston1990 and so pleased that I have your approval re having enough vitamins and all that malarkeyI too didn't do any exercise as went food/cake shopping after work.
Haha - D'ya know what?...Just for a minute there, I only went and read that as you'd "gone cake shopping"
I found some great diet tips when I was trawling the internet (and, incidentally, the legendary and iconic "EatWellPlate" that Diane used to have at school) on an NHS sponsored website.
http://www.nhs.uk/Livewell/Goodfood/Pag ... plate.aspx
I also particularly liked the look of this free downloadable individual 12 week course from them
and thought that it had some really good reminders of healthy eating and weight-loss techniques.
http://www.nhs.uk/livewell/loseweight/P ... thome.aspx
My final recommendation is this "12 Weight-loss Tips" one: http://www.nhs.uk/Livewell/weight-loss- ... -tips.aspx
I do hope that my dieting is not going the same way as my gardening seems to have - ie I read or watch telly about it rather than actually doing it myself.
Todays Menu:
Breakfast: 1 Mug Earl Grey tea.
Lunch: Massive Chicken Salad. (That's a massive salad with chicken, rather than a salad with a massive chicken) and black coffee.
Evening Meal: Steamed brocolli with pack of instant chicken noodles. Mug of Preston's Detox Tisane.
Getting excited for Monday now
Be good everyone! Eat Less Exercise More!

I went for a longish walk in the countryside today. Not quite sure how far it actually was yet (Ill need to check the map) but at a guess, it was probably about 2 or 3 miles. My back held up fairly well, I'm relieved to say. Maybe in a couple of weeks time, I'll venture out on the bike again for some shortish undemanding rides.
Your today's menu choices sound scrummy, Diane, if maybe just a little short on calories.
It's nice to see that you are back on track for Monday though, after last night's
My menus are looking a little "samey" these days, but I've got a real taste for salad stuff at the moment and I know from past experience that it's a good way to kick start the weight loss in the early days. Took on board your yesterday's comments about eating a bit more though, so I've had a much better breakfast today. Thanks for the reminder
Today's Menu:
Breakfast: Danone Actimel Yoghurt drink thing - 71 kcals. Then, Scrambled eggs (2 med eggs, splash of milk) on 2 slices of toasted Warburtons milk roll. - 280 kcals
Lunch: Another really big salad with all the usual veggy stuff with cottage cheese, tuna, chicken, and Doritos mild salsa dip as a dressing. 550 (ish) kcals
Evening Meal 1: Leftover lunchtime salad - 250 kcals. Followed by, Tesco Healthy Living Chicken Arrabiata -342 kcals
Evening Meal 2. ClareBarr's (Thanks for the tip
Back on the black coffee, earl grey tea, and Preston's detox tisane today.
Paah! Cappuccinos - who needs them!!
Oh Yeah Baby! We are going to be so trim and toned!

Re: Weight Watchers
Well done all for your healthy meals :) I must admit I'm still eating sweet stuff, but I'm really trying to cut down. I do find it hard as I've not been working for almost a year; not having the routine of work makes it difficult to diet, as there are lots of temptations to eat, plus I'm not half as active nowadays as I used to be.
By the way-sorry my posts are always fairly short-I read everything u all write but my health condition means I find it hard to concentrate :)

Re: Weight Watchers
Gosh was it that long ago? Mind you I never did reach my goal, but admittedly I was a lot closer to it then than I am now.Diane65 wrote:OMG I cannot believe that it is 3 years ago that we reached our goalsIt is also time to go blackberry picking like we did all those years ago
However, I think you may be more impressed with my efforts on the blackberry picking front. Check out these juicy little bad boys that I picked from a dew laden bush just in front of my house before breakfast today.

Today's Menu:
Breakfast: 40g Porridge with 300 ml SKIMMED
Lunch: The usual massive salad with smoked salmon fillet and sweet chilli sauce - 575 kcals
Evening Meal: I'm thinking Big Jacket potato with baked beans and not too much grated cheese, but no butter
Black coffee, Earl Grey Tea, Preston's Cucumber, Mint and Lemon Detox Tisane.
So sorry to hear about your health issues ClareBarr. Obviously, I don't know your exact circumstances, and we are all different aren't we, but sometimes if I can manage to do any exercise at all, however gentle and insignificant it may seem, then I know that can prove very beneficial.
I have good days and bad days - when my back is very sore I lay in bed for hours resting up, but on good days I try and keep moving around even if this generates a bit of pain as I think this may help overall. I've even been known to do some easy yoga type poses recently. Obviously for a bloke in my condition this is not a pretty sight,
I retired 8 years ago, and I find that even a five minute walk around the block say, is good for a number of reasons. It gets me a change of scenery and breaks the monotony of sitting in the house looking at the walls. It also takes my mind off continually thinking about and then snacking on food. I find exercise actually lifts my mood and gets me a ridiculous sense of achievement whenever I do some. I know from past experience the more exercise I do, the more weight I will lose and thus the easier and more enjoyable it becomes.
Don't worry about the "shortness" of your posts ClareBarr - Mine can be quite lengthy but frequently they are just a load of puerile nonsense and failed attempts at humour. Your posts are quality, I love reading them and the tips that you frequently share with us. It's great that we can all help and encourage each other on here.
Be good everyone and keep posting.
Also, it would be great if we had a few more people joining us here. What have you got to lose?

Re: Weight Watchers
Thanks for your kind comments Preston. I'm feeling a bit fragile today so it brought a tear to my eye (in a nice way). I have whats called fibromyalgia, today is a bad day so I'm still in bed. Will try to get up soon-on days like this I never know what to eat when I get up (breakfast? lunch? Lol), but I think I'll start with porridge today. Have a good day everyone :)

OK I'll get my coat

Lol that's my kind of humour
Speaking of "losing"....my weigh in day is tomorrow. Do you all tend to have an aim to lose a certain amount a week/month? At one point I was losing 1lb a week, someone told me at the time that 1lb a month is easier to maintain?

A big hug to you too Preston1990
You two have certainly inspired me to get out and go for my walk - I can't be bothered is no excuse (that was going through my head). Take care both of you.
I am hoping for a 1lb a week too.
