I totally understand Preston1990 hence I made everyone take the cakes as I would have done the same. I need to plan better as seem to be having the same menu each day which is ok calorie wise but not exciting plus need to make time for exercise. Have fun and keep posting.

Well if it makes you feel better Preston I too have been naughty with the calories today....not been out the flat in 5 days due to my health, finally felt up to it today so "treated" myself to a lunch in my local Costa...mocha & a brie & bacon panini. Tasted really good but I'm feeling a bit guilty now! Healthy foods for the rest of the day to make up for it though!

Wow that's a long time in your flat and I am happy that you were able to get out to Costa.

Menu of the day:
Belvita and a yoghurt as short of time (I was faffing around with some tieback hooks deciding where to put them - Why I decide to do this before work when I leave at 7.30am in the morning I have no idea (lack of patience springs to mind))
Ham salad sandwich and a banana
Chicken, new potatoes and some veg that I will b*y on my way home from work

I will fit in a walk this evening and try and get some more varied menus over the weekend

Hope everyone else is being good o/

Just to say that I too know the lure of an open box of chocs left sitting around, Preston. I think that was very naughty of your daughter to leave it behind -- honestly, students these days! They don't even take their chocolates with them probably just go out and b*y some more! I would think all that hedge trimming and trips to the dump will do the trick with the added calories and I look forward to a picture of the diminished hedge in due course.

ClareBarr, I think you deserved that Costa treat and I hope that your health will allow more time out and about. There is nothing worse than being cooped up indoors for days on end and having had a few sessions of that myself with a knee ailment, I think lunch at Costa was what you deserved and hope it lifted your spirits.

Always good to hear Diane's menus and news. And glad to hear from Andrews who seems to a dark horse on here -- losing weight and not even telling us about her successes until now.

Phew, ClareBarr - It feels good to know that its not just me, lol :D
I've got to agree with both Diane and EJ here ClareBarr though o/ Sometimes you've just got to have a treat to boost your spirit. OK that panini probably weighed in at 500 ish cals and the mocha at 300 - 400 cals but hey, I bet it felt great to get out of the flat after such a long time and have something really tasty to eat and drink. As you say you made up for it later. Think of it as your weekly treat and plan next week's outing now, so that you have something nice to look forward to.

8O Don't skimp on breakfast!! :wall: I don't like to think of you eating those Belvita biscuits Diane (and probably on the go as you're dashing off to work) :nono: - I've had them and to be honest they are a bit too much like custard creams in my book. Take a look at this. http://blog.fooducate.com/2012/05/21/kr ... t-the-day/

I think that you'd be better off getting up 10 minutes earlier and flashing up 40g porridge with some skimmed/semi skimmed milk in the microwave for 3 to 4 mins then chucking in 50g blackberries. Only takes 5 minutes to wolf it down, if you add a little more cold milk at the end. Or maybe have some eggs of some description. Got to be much better for you ;)

Thanks for the moral support on the chocs front, EJ o/
....and how perceptive of you to understand the student "just go out and b*y some more" mentality. My daughter wasn't even going to bring the quite expensive brand new pans, jugs and sharp knives that we b*ght her for 1st year uni, back home, out of her shared kitchen at the halls of residence. Why?, because "the house that they were renting in the second year already has some". ....And, we'd actually gone down in the car to move all of her stuff back anyhow.
Paah, easy come easy go!! Kids today!! :wall:

Here's the Hedge pics as promised. They are a bit blurry but you should get the idea. Nowhere near finished yet - Just done the bottom bit as far as I can reach up standing on the ground (the easy bit) so far. If you look closely that's me reaching up into the hedge by the white chair in the second one.

Nobody likes a smartie pants :nono: I was meaning how high up the wall ;)

I know they are rubbish and yes it was as I was walking out of the door eating as fast as possible. I will eat more sensibly over the weekend although I have a guest coming tomorrow staying overnight and we are going out for dinner tomorrow evening and then breakfast on Sunday morning but we will be doing plenty of walking around the city so not all bad.

Oh Wow Preston1990 that garden is huge 8O . I should be calling you Lord Preston1990 with that estate :D

Yes -- we all now know that Preston1990 lives in a National Trust house -- I plan to visit the cafe soon. I bet the cakes are delicious.

Enjoy your visitor Diane -- sure you will walk off those meals with all that city exploring.

They certainly are, and better still, free with every cake purchased comes a 2 hour "hands on hedge trimming and bagging experience". o/

You lot are crazy!!
