but the problem is that people that had already booked for one of the cancelled location can't book for the "replacement" location!

(just wrote my 3rd email to SFF regarding this Help screening  )

Well that's handy - they've replaced Liverpool with Belfast for this screening!

I hope this is as good as the book, the comments so far seem to suggest it is! Fingers crossed....

We're still waiting to see if a there will be ONE screening of this in the Glasgow area (after the earlier cancellation).
Our only hope may be RBS tickets.

I caught this tonight at the little Psychologies shindig at the Framestore. I'll start by praising the sandwiches. They were some darn good sandwiches. Now, onto the film. An excellent romp. Even at 146 minutes, it didn't feel overlong. It seemed to breeze by. I was completely immersed in the their world. It's touching, it's sad, it's extremely funny whenever it feels like cranking on the laughing gear. And it's an allround fabulous display of acting. Emma Stone has me mesmerised whenever I see her. I just want to leap on her. She's so gorgeous, it's actually quite distracting. Despite all of it's triumphs, it isn't flawless. There's a few plot strands that could have found their way into the editing room dustbin. I'm especially thinking about Stone's character's boyfriend. He basically appears, then disappears, then appears, then disappears, and we somehow expected to be believe in their relationship despite only seeing about two minutes of them together. That was disappointing. My friend and I concluded we enjoyed the way there was really no single one lead character, there were several. And that makes a really refreshing change.

I thought that was quite a reasonable summary considering how blind drunk I am.

9/10.

Went to the Q&A @Framestore tonight where it seems half of the audience was FMUKers
(saw Beate OH's shadow twice on screen tonight :giggle: )

I have to say I usually rely on soonforgotten rating when I have to decide whether or not to watch a movie (it seems that we have a quite similar taste :D )...

You (sf) rated it 9.5/10 (did not find your review though!) so I thought this should blow my mind... what a disappointment... it did really not do it for me; the only time I really felt for the characters was when Charlotte was explaining to Skeeter what happened!
I also found it slightly too slow

There might be something wrong with me today! I'll give it another go on Tuesday just to check if I am still human!

About the Q&A, did anyone else thought that the blond (American) lady might love her own voice... a lot
