I really enjoyed this at a fairly busy Trafford Centre, there was quite a queue when I arrived at 10am but they opened the doors quite quickly. I too got choked up when mufasa died especially as a little boy sat next to me and asked his daddy if Simba's daddy had died
Love the story and sound track especially when Elton John sings it. 8/10

Re: The Lion King (re-released in 3D)
Went to Westerhailes, Edinburgh in the pouring rain this morning while you guys down south swelter in the heat!
Enjoyed the film as couldn't remember having seen it all the way through when the original was out years ago. Slightly disappointed that they had no popcorn or posters for the kids. Like the music from this and it was an entertaining film. As usual some kids got bored and had to be taken to the toilet but most sat through it and seem to enjoy the film.

Enjoyed this very much at Wimbledon this morning. They put on two screens and ours wasn't very full. Then we had a nice lunch and a long drive home thru very heavy traffic, no tubes or trains running in Richmond/Wimbledon areas today.

Re: The Lion King (re-released in 3D)
I don't think there's anyone at the Street Kings 2 screening! If there are, they must be sitting quite low down in their seats
Beate wrote:Second viewing this morning at Odeon Greenwich. Arrived at 10am to a closed door and a long queue, how typical. Some inconsiderate b*st*rds then grabbed every last Lion King poster before we could get there. We were shown to screen 11 which is quite bigger than the normal offering, and features some nice rows of gallery seats similar to the balcony seats at the O2, which we were categorically told, however, we were not allowed to use. I even went down to complain to a manager but they wouldn't budge. Apparently it's an in-house rule that they only open the gallery seats in the evening. Well, they can do what they like in their p*ying screenings but I would have thought that if you book a screen for a free preview, the whole screen is up for grabs! It certainly never is a problem at the Sky superscreen at the O2, so both Disney and the Odeon will be hearing from me. It just feels mean-spirted and spiteful to deny us all the good seats. I was ok in my premiere seats, but that's not the point. I would have loved to be a bit further away from the noisy, talkative kids around us! Bunch of brats they were.
Followed the screening with a lovely Tastecard meal at Henry's at West India Quay, formerly known as Bar 38, and after having had another shower, I almost feel human again. I am not sure though that I can bring myself to leave for the Street Kings 2 screening in an hour so might just skip that - it's too darn hot to go out, especially when you can sunbathe on your own sofa!
Oh yes, who was it who said hello to OH on the way in? He told me he saw one of our friends but couldn't remember their name!

Went to see this at Trafford, got there early at 9:45 as wasn't taking any chances with it being full and not getting a seat. Was already a queue, in the end although busy it was on a big screen so still spaces left. The kids and I really enjoyed it, I thought the 3D was well done as well. It still managed to bring a tear to my eye even after all these years lol.

Re: The Lion King (re-released in 3D)
Does anyone have an email address for the Disney screenings? I can't find one and I have just written a very hacked off pamphlet I wish to send off.

Re: The Lion King (re-released in 3D)
I didn't see this film this morning as I gave away my tickets but I notice that very few of the reviews have made reference to the 3D which is Disney's reason for re-releasing in the cinema. I think it shows that the story is definitely the over-riding thing. 3D seems to be an extra which is not really worth a great deal. I could have posted this in the 2D Vs 3D thread but thought it was worth bringing attention to it with this film.
